  I would say try the sized simplexes. The medium would probably fit your kiddo; mine wears a large and the rise is fine. Plus they're cheaper!

  Try Grovia AIO. DS is also going through a weird stage with our Simplexes, but our Grovias still fit. Also, if you don't mind Aplix, Totsbots Easyfits v4 now have a cotton/bamboo blend.

  you could also try smart bottoms 3.0 AIO. Many places have them on clearance now because they came out with the 3.1 which is cut wider. I love my 3.0 for my skinny guy.
