What exercise did you do this week?

Were you able to reach your goals?

GTKY: I was remembering how my sister and I used to rock out to our mousercise record as a kid. (even exercising on our mini-trampoline :) ) - Do you have any 'exercise' nostalgia? Who else mousercised???

Re: Workout Wednesday

  • What exercise did you do this week? running

Were you able to reach your goals? I had to eliminate one day this week due to my CNM appt. and will have to eliminate one next week due to another and going out of town for labor day - where I plan to eat ALLLL the fair food. Hopefully I can get back in the swing of things in Sept. and not eat 5 lbs worth of fried food...

GTKY: I was remembering how my sister and I used to rock out to our mousercise record as a kid. (even exercising on our mini-trampoline  ) - Do you have any 'exercise' nostalgia? Who else mousercised??? In addition to mousercising, one of my first jobs was lifeguarding at the YMCA where I had the opening shift - so I guarded during the water aerobics classes - I still can sing many of the upbeat versions of a variety of show tunes :) - there are only a few ways of keeping awake in the warm, water-lapping lulling sounding box that is a YMCA pool at 7am

  • Let's see, I swam for a total of 4500 meters (over 3 days) and did my Lindsay Brin's pregnancy 1st and 2nd trimester workouts (a 4 dvd set I bought at a used book store 6 years ago for $8) each twice.  They are actually pretty good workouts!

Yes, I reached my goals.  This next week may be a different story:(

My exercise nostalgia would have to be Get in Shape Girl (from the 80's).  I may be dating myself but I remember wearing the headband/wrist bands and twirling that ribbon while listening to the cassette tape in my room all the while hoping no one walked in on me.

  • What exercise did you do this week? Just yoga, walking, and swimming. The gym fell by the wayside.

Were you able to reach your goals? Not really, but it's okay. I was active in other ways.

GTKY: I was remembering how my sister and I used to rock out to our mousercise record as a kid. (even exercising on our mini-trampoline ) - Do you have any 'exercise' nostalgia? Who else mousercised??? Nothing from pop culture, but I remember my mom doing some toning exercises when I was about four, like bicycle crunches. I would get down on the floor and imitate her, which would make her laugh and ruin her form.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

  • I've been walking more, and did a couple of workouts from a prenatal toning DVD- cardio sculpt, legs and butt, and upper focus. Actually a good workout! I'm slowly going to up it as I get back in the swing of things after taking time off due to SCH. So far, so good!

And yes, my mom had Richard Simmons' "Sweatin' to the Oldies," and I definitely participated!

On Monday evening I went to a bodypump class and my soreness is peaking right about now.  My quads are shot and squatting to pee is an ordeal.  I'd say goals were met for the day!

No mousersize for me, but I do remember my mom had some Buns of Steel VHS tapes too and I would try to do them when I was about 7-8 years old. Hell yeah for other Buns of Steel users!!  image

    :))
  • I was on vacation last week so I slacked and only ran twice. I'm getting back on track this week and will hopefully makeup a few of the days I missed.

I played lots of sports growing up so all my fitness nostalgia is from being on teams and running hill sprints...so many hill sprints!

  • Exercise: Crossfit and running

Goals met: I took last week off after the wedding because my schedule was all wonky and got started again this week.  Core and strength Tuesdays are starting to get a lot tougher with this kid in there.  The big thing I did was go to rugby Monday night, even though all I did was hold the stopwatch.

Nostalgia: In middle school, if the PE teacher was lazy or it was the end of term we used to do 8-minute Abs.  Also Jazzercise Jr.  I did that at my elementary school.  Never again.

  • What exercise did you do this week? Killed it in barre on Monday, but have to cancel tomorrow (fajitas and "ritas" with coworkers, I'm not sorry). Had 13k step day too!!

Were you able to reach your goals? Mostly, bummed this week is so busy (we're going out tonight too) but happy to see friends!

GTKY: I was remembering how my sister and I used to rock out to our mousercise record as a kid. (even exercising on our mini-trampoline  ) - Do you have any 'exercise' nostalgia? Who else mousercised??? I swear we were like 7, my neighbor/BFF got a children's yoga book out of the library and we "practiced" in her pool house.....God bless us.

  • Exercise: walking and biking Goals met: I am happy that I did a little something everyday but I really wanted to get back to my Jillian Michaels workouts. Memory: I enjoy thinking about when I started working out with a friend in 2007. I was not into sports in HS and never very athletic. I felt really good about myself when I started spinning regularly.

  • I am so excited to post on this thread! I have been a lazy bum through the whjole first trimester, and I am just now getting back to the gym.

What exercise did you do this week? Elliptical for 30 minutes Monday and Tuesday.

Were you able to reach your goals? My goal was to walk into the gym and do anything, so yes. I plan on adding in some other exercises, but I have been nervous.

GTKY: I was remembering how my sister and I used to rock out to our mousercise record as a kid. (even exercising on our mini-trampoline  ) - Not really. I have never really been one for working out until a few years ago. I miss running. I got hurt and had to have knee surgery, so I am just now getting back into the swing of things.

  • What exercise did you do this week? Walked every day during lunch and did an arm workout every other day!

Were you able to reach your goals? Yes for once, feels great.

GTKY:  Just the corny aerobics tapes in HS.
  • What exercise did you do this week?  45 mins on the elliptical 4 days

Were you able to reach your goals?  Yes, aside from this we've been very active in the house with some "remodeling" so I feel like I've done well.

GTKY: I was remembering how my sister and I used to rock out to our mousercise record as a kid. (even exercising on our mini-trampoline  ) - Do you have any 'exercise' nostalgia? Who else mousercised???  I totally mousercised!  Only, I did it by TV.  It came on right after my mom dropped me off at my grandma's in the morning, so I would go straight to it!  I also did aerobics with my mom (sort of) in the living room.  When I was in elementary school, we went to Mommy and Me workout classes together!

  • My schedule has been hectic but I have been trying to get to my gym for the strength training class two days a week. I try to walk at lunch during work as well. I do not always get it in but I am trying. =)  I have GD so keeping up my work outs is key to keep good numbers.....well and my diet! I would not say I met my goals. I would like to be in my gym three days a week at least. Hopefully that will start happening in the coming weeks. As for nostalgia....well this is not really old but I always laugh at those prancersizing videos on youtube! Hilarious.

  • What exercise did you do this week? step on sunday - skipped monday - legs/cardio yesterday and boxing class today

Were you able to reach your goals? I prefer to do something everyday but my work days make me tired - so no, I didnt workout everyday

GTKY: I just remember my mom doing Jane Fonda videos and Id go to her step class and everyone was in leotards
  • What exercise did you do this week?
I walk 3-4 miles and doing various cardio/yoga on days I do not walk.

Were you able to reach your goals?
Well, it's only Wednesday, but so far, yes. I have been doing good keeping up.

GTKY: I was remembering how my sister and I used to rock out to our mousercise record as a kid. (even exercising on our mini-trampoline  ) - Do you have any 'exercise' nostalgia? Who else mousercised???
We totally mousercised at my babysitters when I was little. I started long distance running when I was in the 3rd grade, and my dad and I were training for a race. I had to pee really bad but he wouldn't let me take a break...and I ended up peeing my pants, but finished the run.

  • What exercise did you do this week? Swam every other day.  Proud of myself for doing a mile on Sunday.

Were you able to reach your goals? Yes!  Thanking everything that is holy I'm finally over that ridiculous cough from a week ago.

GTKY: I never had to do any exercise.  Everyone around me was too busy running me into and out of hospitals.  Any day that I was able to get out of the bed without throwing up or an asthma attack was a blessed day.  I pray my baby will not be burdened with the same curse.

  • What exercise did you do this week? Walking, swimming, and tonight I'm going to my first big kids (non-rookies) crossfit. The workout is composed of moves i'm very comfortable with, so it's a good one to start with. Plus, DH will be going with me.

Were you able to reach your goals? I had some trouble with MS earlier this week, throwing up always puts a kink in my workout plans. But if I fit in 1 more cardio and 1 more weight session before Sunday I'll reach my goals for the week.

GTKY: I was remembering how my sister and I used to rock out to our mousercise record as a kid. (even exercising on our mini-trampoline ) - Do you have any 'exercise' nostalgia? Who else mousercised??
I don't really have that kind of nostalgia. I have nostalgia for working out before bilateral hip surgery. I miss having hip flexors that were strong and didn't ache all the time. When i work out now it's usually a balancing act of finding modifications for things that accommodate either the belly or my still-recovering hip joints. So I have nostalgia for the good old days when I had tons of energy, could do any exercise I wanted to, and felt great doing pretty much any exercise. Sigh.
