@hooligans - Well...you and I are in the same boat! This post was actually sparked by me craving something bad at 9:30 in the morning, and knowing I couldn't have it. I instead ate my "good girl" food at lunch and just pretended like it was bad foods.
1) Your favorite casual dining meal? TexMex food (complete with Margarita)
2) Your favorite upscale meal? As a chef this is hard to answer. The best course I ever had was at Victoria and Albert's - it was seared foie gras with a Fuji apple tart and Sauternes. Oh my God, it was wonderful.
3) Your favorite homemade meal? Again this is hard for me to answer. I do make a fabulous braised beef cannelloni.
4) Something you wished you could eat as much of as you wanted and never get fat? Cheese and wine!
5) Your food addiction: I love M&Ms and popcorn together.
TTCAL January Siggy Challenge: Animals in the Snow
Oh I'm so hungry reading these! All day I've been insatiable and I'm still hours away from dinner!
1) Your favorite casual dining meal? Recently, I love ceasar salads with grilled buffalo chicken on top...I love anything buffalo and the cool ceasar with it = yum! 2) Your favorite upscale meal? So many! I love really great Italian, amazing steak, or sushi... 3) Your favorite homemade meal? If I'm cooking, this Portuguese beef stew, Alcatra. If DH is cooking, fish and chips. 4) Something you wished you could eat as much of as you wanted and never get fat? Bread, warm fresh wonderful bread. 5) Your food addiction: used to have a big sweet tooth and loved sour gummy candy (yes, evidently I'm 12 years old), but have mostly kicked that habit and replaced it with chips or popcorn.
@meredithcarole too bad you can't whip up some of those and send them through the interwebs
1) Casual: sitting by the sea in a fisherman's shack and eating catch of the day, preferably grilled, with a giant tomato and red onion salad and a nice, heavy white wine; second choice is a Brazilian feijoada, but it has to be the real thing and it's best done once every five years because it literally knocks you out!
2) Upscale: Sushi and sashimi; I also love Spanish and Italian. Mmmm.
3) Homemade: my aunt's baked beans (made with tomatoes, onions, olives and parsley)
4) Wish it were calorie-free: almond croissants
5) Food addiction: I go through phases; currently, I'm living in fear of roasted gorgonzola crackers from Trader Joe's.
I am too buzzed from my glass of wine and it is way to late right now to answer all, so I will go with the most addicting question as it is sand bagging my weight loss efforts: Peanut Butter Snicker squares. I can't ever stop at just one.
So glad I read this after dinner or I would have been feeling just like @meredithcarole.
1) I'm going with a chicken burrito bowl too 2) filet 3) sechwan shrimp....or any pasta meal 4)ice cream 5) currently, pretty much any junk food but probably candy bars
I went on a big diet last year to lose 30 lbs before getting pregnant and did awesome until I had a few candy bars which lead to daily ones....a year later I'm still not pregnant, at my heaviest and can't seem to get motivated to diet and exercise. :-( trying to avoid candy bars has been a futile exercise
Like @hooligans4, I'm vegetarian, so there are limited upscale options.
1) Your favorite casual dining meal? Roman-style vegetarian pizza or Chipotle burrito
2) Your favorite upscale meal? Fresh italian food like handmade pasta and bread
3) Your favorite homemade meal? I make Jamie Oliver's rice pilaf with greens, chick peas, and feta that I really love. It's topped with olive oil and cracked pepper.
4) Something you wished you could eat as much of as you wanted and never get fat? Pain au chocolate or brioche bun with chocolate chunks from a local bakery
5) Your food addiction: bananas. I need one every day.
"It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness." - Eleanor Roosevelt
Oh there are so many.....A really great Ahi Poke or crab cakes with some kind of amazing sauce (last time it was with some jalapeño sauce mmmmm) Im a sucker for the appetizers at the fancier places I have been too.
3) Your favorite homemade meal?
My hubbys Chipotle Mac n Cheese.......to die for.
4) Something you wished you could eat as much of as you wanted and never get fat?
Creme Brûlée
5) Your food addiction:
Carbs for sure.......we are broken up right now though. We broke up last week. It really better that way.
@URMySunshine77 What is Roman-style pizza? @KirstenAlicia Chipotle Mac n Cheese? Sounds amazing. Can you share the recipe?
1) Your favorite casual dining meal? cheese calzone
2) Your favorite upscale meal? Pumpkin ravioli and a light alfredo sauce with tomato and spinach
3) Your favorite homemade meal? spaghetti squash with tomato sauce
4) Something you wished you could eat as much of as you wanted and never get fat? ice cream, particularly slightly melted with banana and chocolate sauce
5) Your food addiction:
currently seasoned seaweed. thank goodness they are only 100 calories a package because I can't stop when I start.
This is making me hungry, not the best thread to read on a strict diet.
1) Your favorite casual dining meal? Got to be a burger at New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood. How I have missed that place.
2) Your favorite upscale meal? Italian!!!! Our fav place is In the quarter, it's the whole experience, wine, fresh baked bread, food, more wine, fresh cannoli's and the opera singers.
3) Your favorite homemade meal? I make the most awesome spaghetti and meatballs, but if you ask my husband it's crawfish pies. I just don't eat seafood.
4) Something you wished you could eat as much of as you wanted and never get fat? cheeseburgers and fries with LOTS of mayo
5) Your food addiction: gotta be bread, oh how I have missed it.
1) Your favorite casual dining meal? Shrimp tacos and a margarita.
2) Your favorite upscale meal? A dirty martini, a dozen raw oysters with mignonette, a medium rare petite filet and a side of creamed spinach. And maybe some Caesar salad, too.
3) Your favorite homemade meal? Indian butter chicken in the crock pot. Yum!
4) Something you wished you could eat as much of as you wanted and never get fat? ALL THE FOOD.
5) Your food addiction: Fried pickles.
Me: 38 DH: 40 TTC#1 (and likely only) since 9/13. Saw RE 5/14, SA good, AMH 2.36, FSH 7.2, estradiol 69.6 indicating good egg reserve. Using OPKs. First Letrozole cycle 6/14, a burst cyst and a BFN. Second Letrozole cycle 7/14, BFN.
Update 11/14 - had laparoscopy 10/28, good news is that my uterus and left tube look good, and they were able to drain the cyst on my left ovary. Bad news is that right tube and ovary have endo and scar tissue, so they're pretty useless.. Best news is that we finally have some answers and a path forward. Taking 7.5 mg letrozole CD 2-6 to put that good left ovary through its paces.
UPDATE 2/2015 - We switched to another fertility clinic, but fortunately we don't have to start all over. We're doing two cycles of Clomid plus IUI, if neither of those take, we'll do IVF in April, potentially with ICSI. (DH's SA has gone downhill, likely due to excessive exercise.) IUI#1 2/25/15....
This is not good first thing in the morning...my mouth is watering for the chipotle mac & cheese @KristenAlecia and the Indian Crockpot Chicken @Austrogermokee. Please share those recipes!
1) Your favorite casual dining meal? Blackbean burger and sweet potato fries
3) Your favorite homemade meal? Grandma Pearl's Goulash
4) Something you wished you could eat as much of as you wanted and never get fat? Bread and butter
5) Your food addiction: Cake!

1 and 2 don't really apply to me because I'm a vegetarian so their aren't too many options so I usually just get a vegi burger.
Yeah, upscale is kind of difficult, but unfortunately I have way to many casual veggie favorites - like pizza (I'm not strict vegan), a Chipotle veggie burrito or pad Thai from Pei Wei.

I will ask the hubby how he makes Chipotle Mac N Cheese and share......I know he doesn't have a real recipe (he never measures stuff.....he is one of THOSE super naturally talented people in the kitchen)
@mindaa I just had Chipotle for the first time yesterday. They had this really good spicy tofu that I had in my burrito. That could be dangerous if I lived closer to one. I cook everyday so I can count on my hands how many times in the past 10 years we got pizza for dinner. Normally we go out to a casual place about once a month.
@KirstenAlecia that's so funny, last night I had really intense dreams and I can't remember anything about them...except that some part had something to do with poke! I have no idea why...my subconscious is telling me I should go find some, I guess (could be pretty tricky in MA).

I can understand why.....ITS AMAZING!
The Yardhouse makes good Ahi Poke and its not even a high end restraunt.......I had it there once years ago before we hit a Red Hot Chili Peppers Concert and man i remember it just as well as i do the concert. It was yummy.

I forgot to mention that Roman-style pizza has a very thin crust but juicy toppings. My favorite Romanesque flavors include a fried egg or slices of fried potato on top.
