Sappy Sap Sap

at this time, 6 months ago, my water broke. I knew that LO was coming and that I was, very happily, leaving the SFP club. what I didn't realize was how fast this time would go. it seemed like I would be in labor forever, I would be scared to poop and pee forever, I would have mastitis forever, and that LO wouldn't sleep through the night forever. and then, suddenly, I blinked and here I am... sitting in my family room with little piles of baby toys around me, folding what feels like my 100th load of 9 month pajamas. (9 months?!?) I used to laugh at the people who said not to blink because it goes by so quickly and now I'm tearfully watching the clock as I reminisce about this night and how far away and close it feels all at the same time. I'm not sure how I got here (this is where MIL would obnoxiously say, "IIIIIIII know how you got hereeeeee!!!". barf.) but I can't help but feel extra blessed, not only for LO but for this amazing bump community we've created over the past year.

and that will conclude my sappiness for the evening. anyone else care to chime in with a little sap of their own??

ps: wwaaaahhhhhhhh my baby is 6 months old and in 9 month pajamaassssssssss!!!! :((  :-O

  • #teary I ♡ what you said. They really do grow so fast. @Rach521‌

@shellbell3845‌ @BlueDot818‌ DS still wears Carter's footies at 2.5 yrs. They are on the kid side of the Carter's store and are no longer called Sleep and Plays just pajamas

I buy all of mine at Kohls with 30% much cheaper than the Carter's store. :(

I know there are still footed PJs...but they're definitely PJs. They're not for like going to target/wegmans/church/etc.

    IT'S NOT THE SAME.

(And the big sizes don't have the Halloween ones with the pumpkin on the butt.)

My DS1 is going to school this year! Real school! And almost FIVE!!!

The days are long but the years are short.  I will say that I enjoy every new stage more and more.  Now it's like hanging out with an actual person with DS1, rather than just taking care of a baby all day.  He has preferences and ideas and emotions.  It's really fun and great.

With DS3, I'm torn between sappy (my last baby... wahhh...) and super excited because I know how much fun the stages to come are!

ETA to add that DS1 and I have been playing N64 all afternoon.  N64.  Awesome.  Almost-5 year olds are great.

    I love this so much.

  • Ya, we're into 18m clothes since I make looooong-torsoed babies. It's been both sad and a relief to give away all the clothes as we outgrow them.

I agree with @Soap1 in that, while it's sad to watch your last baby grow up, each upcoming stage is so exciting. It's so much fun having conversations with DS1, hearing about his day, and watching him do all his big-boy firsts.

  • I can't believe how fast it's all going. But I love seeing DD grow and how we are developing our relationship. Today I was polishing my toes and she was watching me so intently. It won't be long before she's asking me to polish hers. For as sad as it is to watch her grow more independent, it's equally if not more exciting for me to see her grow into the girl she's becoming.
