Outgrowing Co-Sleeper, WWYD?

I'm a FTM and love having DD next to me in the Arms Reach Co-Sleeper, but at 13 weeks, she is starting to really move around at night. The past 3 nights, she has turned diagonal so her little face is almost smooshed against the side netting.  I'd like to wait until 6 months to transition to her crib, but don't know where to go after outgrowing the co-sleeper.  How does LO stay in your room in the 4/5/6 month range?  What are they sleeping in?

(Also, I'm assuming there's no problems with her staying in our room until 6 months? Does it make it harder to transition the longer LO sleeps in your room?)

Thanks so much for any suggestions!

  • I think most people use a pack and play or being the crib in their room.

  • I kept DD in he arms reach mini cosleeper for 8months. I took her out of it when she started crawling. Before then she could turn around in the cosleeper but there's no way she would have been able to get out of it. She also liked sleeping with her face smooshed in the corner. My cosleeper also has the option to put the side up and turn it into a bassinet if you're worried about LO getting out.

Yes, this. Our LO has been in the PnP beside our bed from day one. We are hoping to move her to the crib in the next month or so.

  • We brought the crib in last night for the same reason.
  • My DS was getting big for his RnP. At 12 weeks, we moved him into his crib. I was sad not to have him right by my bed, but I was also worried that he wouldn't like his crib. The transition was easy. I've seen on here that plenty start using the crib at 6 months with no problem, so it might not be a problem for you!

  • My LO is in a pack n play in our bedroom. She is so long that she grew out of the bassinet attachment after a few weeks so she has been in the crib part of it since she was a few weeks old. Im not sure how long ill keep her in our room. I see no problem with it for now!
  • Thanks so much for all the suggestions! Looks like we will be checking out a pack n play soon.  :))
