I was miserable with heart burn for a while until I started taking OTC omeprazole. Works wonders!! Tums did nothing. And yea my appetite is way down. My babies growth % has decreased so I'm trying to keep eating

Same here. I would talk to your provider before starting a daily regime of some kind of acid controlling medication.

That being said, I usually take TUMs for prevention, TUMs if I don't have that bad of heartburn, and I take the liquid Mylanta if it's really bad. The liquid helps me the most.

I have found that my appetite has decrease or I have what I like to call frequent "eyes are bigger than my stomach" syndrome.

Definitely have noticed that I have less of an appetite. I've found that I can eat the most for lunch and eating at night is a frequent source of heartburn for me. I'm no help on what else to try for heartburn- Tums still seem to work for me, although I sometimes need to eat 2 and then have 2 more a few hours later.

I'm there with you. My appetite has decreased, but I still manage to find room for ice cream. Heartburn is horrible (and is for all my pregnancies). I really try to not eat at least 2 - 3 hours before going to bed.
P.S. Old wives tale that heartburn = lots hair is not true. Worst with 2nd baby and he is a baldy

I've been fluctuating--some days not so hungry and others (like today) up at 4 STARVING. And then really hungry today. But this lady has had her feet pushing the side of my stomach for like an hour which isn't helping!

I have noticed a decrease in appetite too in the last 3 weeks or so. I have had heartburn really bad too. Tums still seem to help me but I too have to take a few and then later take a few more. This week at the doctor I had not gained any weight since I was there 2 weeks ago. This was a plus considering the month before I had gained quite a bit.

My appetite is definitely way down. I take Prevacid every night for my horrible acid reflux. I have the type where I choke in the middle of the night, which leads to violent coughing, vomiting, and best of all, peeing my pants. Fun times.

I have had a decreased appetite,ridiculous acid reflux-I have been taking Zantac and it works wonders (I try to remember to take it as close as possible to bed). Ice cream has seemed to be the only thing I am able to eat a decent amount of! Annnnd, I know the heartburn is supposed to be an old wives tale, but I had an ultransound done this past Wednesday-this kid already has a full head of hair!! It was crazy that they were able to show me LOL.
