  I think you need to try to be as healthy as possible when starting IVF. I have gained about 20lbs total in the last year. 10lbs was probably from my first 3 pregnancies and losses and another 10 from the 3 months of injections and now IVF.
  
  I'm actually 20-25lbs heavier than I'd like to be but it's almost impossible while going through fertility treatments to lose anything. My RE said the treatments make your body store fat more than normal for a future pregnancy.

  I agree it's very tough to lose weight during an IVF cycle.  I learned to just not be a control freak about it, focus on what I ate more, and not overdo it (exercise wise).  Then again, I'm a stress eater, so I wasn't a saint until the last 2 weeks or so.  I gained about 7-8 pounds per IVF cycle - 15 total since my first try at IVF in April.

  FWIW, I haven't gained any weight from either IVF cycle and I could stand to lose some weight regardless.  And I wouldn't worry about 10 pounds making or breaking a cycle esp if you aren't at the higher end of the BMI cutoff for IVF.
