Re: ***Tuesday Ticker Change Check-in***

  • Hey guys, I'm back!  The conference was fine, kind of boring but at least it was a change of scenery.  If I'm ever pregnant again, I don't think I'll sign up for 3rd tri travel though, it was exhausting!  Welcome @strawberri916!  @SpartyKim do you have any updates yet?  I hope that all is OK.

How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?  29 weeks, acorn squash (but last week I was an eggplant, which is bigger than an acorn squash, yes?)

How are you feeling?  Feeling good, just starting to tire pretty quickly.

Favorite moment of the week?  Sleeping the weekend away!  And I got a pedicure cause it's hard to reach my toes these days :-)  Oh and I found out that I passed my glucose test.

Least favorite moment of the week?  Flying back and forth to Atlanta last week.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  Same, tired, heartburn, aches/pains.  And it's starting to get uncomfortable lying on my back (I wake up on my back at night a lot).  That's probably making sleeping more difficult.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  Pretty good lately.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  Next appointment is next Friday, at that point I'm on the bi-weekly schedule.

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

What are your favorite things about or what are you most looking forward to about this fall?  Lots of baby-related things to look forward to like the shower and meeting him or her!  But I also love apples, cider, and anything pumpkin. I'm looking forward to that first Sunday after the baby is born when I can have a pumpkin beer while watching football and then eat pumpkin pie later for dessert :-)  Lol.

How are you feeling?  In general, I feel great!  Had a bad night last night but trying not to let that spoil my sunny outlook.

Favorite moment of the week?  Seeing LO yesterday morning at my appointment.  It was just a super quick sonogram but LO was squirming around and looking adorable.

Also had a great time with DH over the weekend finishing up our registry.  So much fun.

Least favorite moment of the week?  I felt terrible last night!  It was like I was back in week 7 all of a sudden.  Felt queasy, couldn't get too near DH or my dog because of the smell.  Ugh!

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  I've been having really bad heartburn but my doctor prescribed Zantac yesterday at my appointment and since taking that I feel loads better.  Other than that and achey hips when I sleep it's all good.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  So I really thought I was done with PGAL brain.  And for the most part I am.  Except for one or two days before my next appointment, at which point I become convinced that something has gone wrong and I just don't know it.  Ugh.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  Anatomy Scan 4 weeks from yesterday.  Can't wait!

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

What are your favorite things about or what are you most looking forward to about this fall?  I love fall!  Even living in Texas where we don't get that crisp autumn weather, it's still lovely to get out of the triple digits.  I love football season, I love pumpkin beer (although not this year, obvi), I love seasonal drinks at Starbucks.  Oh, and I really really love Thanksgiving.

So excited for our rainbow baby!
  • @jcar2 Congrats on passing your milestone.  I had a lot of issues with bloating and not wanting to eat/nothing sounding good during 1st tri, it started to get better around 14-15 weeks though.

@meagpt22 I'm glad that the finger pricks are looking good, I hope that they clear you today!  How exciting about your shower!  Did you stalk your registry up until the shower?  I'm trying to keep myself from stalking anymore but it's so hard, I have no will power and it's fun to check.

  • How far along are you?
    24 weeks! V-day!!

How are you feeling? Super tired at the moment. The semester started yesterday, so I'm back to teaching, and I'm a little stunned how worn out I got on day 1.

    Favorite moment of the week?
Vday!! And heard my SIL had a good 10 week u/s. So excited for them! It's been quite the struggle for them to get to that point.

Least favorite moment of the week?
    Missing lunch on Friday :(

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?
Heartburn is not quite as bad as it was. Getting breathless more often.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests? Doing okay, but starting to worry a bit about preterm labor.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?
Check up tomorrow. Get to hear Lo's heartbeat :)

    ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

What are your favorite things about or what are you most looking forward to about this fall?
I like cooler weather, wearing boots and tights, apple cider, and Halloween. But this year, I just can't wait til fall is over, I'm done with my semester, and LO is safe at home with us!

  • How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?  23 weeks -- grapefruit!

How are you feeling?  Mostly good; sore hips and heartburn but otherwise cruisin' along.

Favorite moment of the week?  DS started 1st grade last Wednesday, so it's been great to see him settle into the routine and so far he likes his new school/teacher.

Least favorite moment of the week?  This morning he was complaining about a tummy ache but there was nothing I could do; no fever, no vomiting/diarrhea, no reason to keep him home. My heart was breaking dropping him off at school. His teacher thought it might be nerves; apparently the fire drill yesterday afternoon shook him up pretty bad.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  Acid reflux pretty much all the time. Bleh. I had it with DS so it's not surprising, but still annoying.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  Doing okay; one week till V-day!

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  Next appt is Monday and definitely looking forward to Vday milestone next week!

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

What are your favorite things about or what are you most looking forward to about this fall?  So much! In FL, we had no seasons, so now that we're "up North", I'm anticipating every crisp morning, colorful leaf, and flake of snow!

    DS born 10/22/2008
    DD born 12/23/2014

  • How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?

    26 weeks, lettuce

    How are you feeling?

At this very moment I'm an hour and a half into my repeat 3 hour glucose test, so currently I feel pretty crappy.  In general though I feel pretty ok.  My pregnancy pillow is AH-mazing - my hips and back feel so much better.

    Favorite moment of the week?

Picking up DH from the airport.  He is traveling every other week right now and I missed him a lot this week.

Least favorite moment of the week?

I had a very vivid dream about having LO early and her not surviving.  It was just an awful dream and I can't get it out of my head.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?

Back pain has definitely eased with my pillow as mentioned above.  Braxton Hicks have picked up a lot this week.  I'm not having more than 3 per hour and they don't hurt - but they are uncomfortable and just don't help the pre-term labor anxiety (even though Rational Liz knows that BH are my body's way of practicing and don't indicate that I'll go into preterm labor).

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?

I cannot shake my fear of preterm labor.  I realize that it's way more likely that I'll go overdue than have her too early, but my brain just is not listening to rational arguments.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?

Every week feels like a milestone right now.  I feel very good about every Tuesday and rolling over to a new week.

    @megbmeg Congrats on V-Day!
@megbmeg and @MrsTuna09 After our A/S through V-day and really up until the last week for some reason I was also really worried about pre-term labor, for no good reason.  Guess it's normal for PGAL?
@haleyusf I'm sorry that your son is having some trouble, I was an anxious kid and used to dread things like fire drills, especially fire drills on the school bus.

@rox825 Thanks for the check-in and for asking about me...see below.  Congrats on passing glucose test!

How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?  8 weeks/raspberry....maybe.  Last wednesday, at 7w1d, I looked 5w along at the u/s so either I have a mmc or I ovulated/implanted late...

How are you feeling? Tired, uterus started pressing on bladder yesterday so I'm going to the bathroom a lont, sore boobs

Favorite moment of the week?  DD learned how to blow raspberries on DH's tummy - so cute!

Least favorite moment of the week?  Last wednesday's ultrasound...no heartbeat and measuring about 2 weeks behind.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  The frequency to urinate is new so I'd like to take that as a good sign, and no bleeding or cramping to indicate a miscarriage is coming.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  I've been trying to focus on my beautiful, funny little girl this week instead of wondering about my pregnancy.  DH won't be able to come to tomorrow's u/s because he's flying (military) so he won't even receive my text with the results until he lands in the evening.  Just hoping for good news and not a mmc.

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

What are your favorite things about or what are you most looking forward to about this fall?  DD is old enough to understand parts of Halloween this year so looking forward to her reaction to that, plus carving pumpkins with her, etc.

  • @jcar2‌ Thank you! I hope everything gets sorted out with daycare.

@rox825‌ I'm glad you past the glucose test I'm dreading having to do mine although I still have time!

@meagpt22‌ your getting so close! Yayyyy!!

@larahouseman‌ I get the same way before my appointments I feel like a month is too long to wait!

@MrsTuna08‌ good luck on your glucose test! T&P for good results

@haleyusf‌ I'm sorry your first day wore you out. I hope it gets better.

    @megbmeg yayyyyy for V-Day I can't wait to get past 20 and 24 weeks.
  • How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?  38 weeks pumpkin.

    How are you feeling? Good

Favorite moment of the week? I had a dr. appt this week. I do not expect the baby early and he/she isn't even engaged yet but I am 1 cm dilated. I know that means nothing but it is exciting to see my body getting ready.

Least favorite moment of the week?  Last week, I had an NST at the dr's. The regular tech was on vacation so I had a nurse that I really don't like. She hadn't done many NSTs and couldn't find the heartbeat for a continuous time. I was not worried at all just getting frustrated. We tried for over an hour and the best luck we had was when I moved it. She sort of gave up. The dr (not mine) said I had to go to L&D. I was furious. It was such a waste of time. L&D wasn't even sure why I was there and got the heartbeat on the NST in like 30 seconds. I was so frustrated.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  Getting to just be sore. The last few weeks really are a monster.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  I had a dream we couldn't find the hb and had to have a c-section. But in my dream everything turned out all right.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  NST this afternoon. FX that the tech is back from vacation.

  • @rox825-mmm pumpkin!
@jcar2-Sorry about the daycare drama. It can be so stressful.
@meagpt22-I remember sitting in the baby's room with all the gifts and getting so excited for everything. I know some find it stressful but I hope you feel the excitement.
@larahouseman-Ohh Thanksgiving. I love that too. Usually I host, this year might be tricky because I actually go back to work on the Monday before.
    @megbmeg-Yeah for V-Day.
@haleyusf- I teach Kindergarten so I can tell you how upset little ones get at the fire drills. They are very scary and we take them so seriously. Hope he has a better day today.
@Mrstuna08- Sorry you had to take the 3 hour test. Fx you pass. If not I have GD so feel free to hit me up for ideas or sympathy.
@Elysa17-My bday is also next month. Happy early birthday.
@Spartykim-((hugs)) and good luck on the u/s.
@Birch113- I want a natural labor too. I looked into all kinds of programs but kept getting the same feeling you are. I want a intervention-free delivery but I want my ob too. I did a lot of reading on all of the major styles and kind of chose what works for me. Of course we will see if that works in a few weeks. One book I really enjoyed was babycatcher. She is NB but sees the use of OB's too. And it is just stories, kind of like Ina Mae but much more modern and less commune like.

  • How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?  17 weeks, pomegranate/turnip/onion

How are you feeling?  Great! My prenatal appointment last week made me feel a lot better, especially after hearing the HB again.

Favorite moment of the week?  We discussed the results of the first part of the sequential integrated screening and it looks good. Our odds of DS are 1/6700 and everything else was even better odds.  The NT scan had looked good, so I'm glad that we're over that hurdle.  I also had the blood work done for the last part of the testing.

Least favorite moment of the week?  I forgot that one of my credit cards was due and accidentally paid a day late.  Oops.  I hate having to pay the fee on top of the interest that gets charged, especially since I already had money set aside to pay it and just forgot. ~X(

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?  Better! I've been feeling pretty good. I feel like I have more energy now, which is very welcome. I'm dealing with what I think is SPD where my sacrum meets my hip bones. I forgot to bring it up to my doctor at my appt last week because it had seemed to get better for a little while.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  I'm feeling pretty good. I won't have another appointment or u/s for 3 more weeks. Having the last 4 week stretch in between appointments was a little hard. Now that MH will be back to rotate through the ER starting next week, I might take advantage of his access to an u/s machine. Or, maybe go in on their "ultrasound Thursday" when other residents practice doing them.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  I have my next prenatal appointment in a few weeks and will schedule my A/S when MH gets home from work today. I can't believe it's almost that time already.

What are your favorite things about or what are you most looking forward to about this fall?  I love hiking (and even going for walks) in the fall because there are less bugs and the weather is cooler. I love it when the leaves change, it's so beautiful down our street.

    3) lots of faves! Heatd good hb's on Thuin Sept, travel mid September.s, my cousin and sister were in town! We all went on a family camping trip over the weekend had about 40 people there :-) And my friends back home offered me a baby shower!!!! I am so excited for that \:D/
    4) I hate how backwards things are here. My license got suspended for not paying ticket. Then I got busted driving back Sunday while my sister slept. Paying the ticket is not easy, they dont even figure out a price for 7 days after.... and the suspension was the only thing I got in the mail. Very different where I grew up.

    5) symptoms not bad. Some sleeping aches, but not every day. I cant eat enough :-( I have only gained 10 lbs, I should be 20lbs by 20 weeks, which only gives me 3 more to catch up!

6)PGAL brain not bad, the cramping worries me a bit. But a friend did a u/s at work and both babies looked great, scheduled our a/s first week in Sept, they will check my cervix then, which doc calls "gargantuan" so if it is stll fine we will travel mid Sept.

    7) upcoming appts, looking fwd to the scan and seeing my old friends and family at home, we are past our loss date now :-)

GTKY- love fall! Crisp days, changing leaves- my birthday, pumpkin pie! And closer to babies :-)

@Bonnesetter27‌ Thanks for the book suggestion! I will order it on amazon! I am so glad that you understand! Everyone else at the open house didn't seem phased, but I was so uncomfortable. Did you end up doing any formal labor classes, or have you stuck with books?
I didn't end up doing formal labor classes, although with my son I did take the hospital childbirth class. I had placenta previa so we thought this baby was going to be a c-section until about 6 weeks ago. I have been "cramming" with all sorts of books since then. I have the advantage of being through labor once and know how I felt during it. What I gathered from my research is to go to a quiet, dark area, use the birth ball (I did with my son too), I have a few yoga poses to try and a labor playlist on my ipod. I also wrote down some "mantras" and say them at night as well as 2 visualizations to help during labor. Hope that helps you.

  • How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you?
    18 weeks - sweet potato

If you’re far enough along, are you having a boy or girl or are you team green? (This is to update the list, so if you’re already on there no need to answer again!)

    We find out Friday!!

    How are you feeling?

Feeling a lot better than I have been. Still pretty tired and get killer heart burn but have some moments of energy that I am loving. Feeling the baby pretty regularly which is awesome.

    Favorite moment of the week?

Just feeling the baby move this week has been my favorite.

Least favorite moment of the week?

The lower back pain has started and Saturday night it was going down my right leg and was very difficult to get to sleep.

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones?

Tired, heartburn, lower back pain which is pretty new and i have been getting some pain in my uterus that started yesterday which is not awesome.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests?  I have been doing pretty good but for some reason just took a turn for the worst last week. I am starting to feel better because I am feeling the baby daily but I am just ready to have this anatomy scan over with.

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  I have my anatomy scan on Friday morning and I will take and extra T&P you wonderful ladies have. My anxiety hits the roof when I get closer to ultrasounds and my mind just starts going into the gutter. I am very much hoping to get passed this anatomy scan and find that we have a healthy baby and also find out the sex :)

What are your favorite things about or what are you most looking forward to about this fall?  Pumpkin flavored goodies :) And in my family it is the season of birthdays and anniversarys.

  • rox825 – Yay for passing your glucose test and for getting a pedicure! I am hoping to be able to get one this weekend. I wake up on my back every night which is soo strange because before I was pregnant I would never ever sleep on my back. I keep worrying cause I keep reading that at month 4 you should avoid sleeping on your back but sometimes it takes way to much energy in the middle of the night to turn over.

jcar2 – So happy that you got passed your loss milestone! That is such a great feeling!

meagpt22 – Sending lots of T&P your way that your bloodwork results are good.

larahouseman – My PGAL brain comes back in full force before appointments. I am so glad that yours went well!

megbmeg – Congrats on V day!! Very exciting!!

haleyusf – Sending T&P your way for a great appointment on Monday!

MrsTuna08 – I am so sorry that you had to repeat your glucose test. I hope that you get good results this time around.

Elysa15 – Sending lots of T&P your way for a great appointment on Monday!

SpartyKim – Sending lots of T&P your way for a great ultrasound tomorrow. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this.

Birch113 – That hypnobirthing open house sounded a little crazy. Seems like they would want people to keep an open mind and not go right into bad mouthing providers.

Bonnesetter27 – I hope that your scan went well and that you didn’t end of with that nurse again. I’m sorry that you had to go through that.

    GrailSeeker14 – Congrats & Welcome!

luciddreamer106 – So happy to hear that your appointment went great last week!

Bigboneded – Sorry about the tickets, that sucks!

  • @meagpt22  Yes, I could bring someone else but being a military family, I don't have any close friends or family that know about my pregnancy.  My closest friend that knows I'm pg is 97 miles away.  MIL is 6 hrs away.  My parents & another close friend are halfway across the country...so it'll just be me & DD at the appointment.

  • @SamanthaLaura16‌ I can't wait till I find out what I'm having I wish I'd know Monday lol lots of T&P for you on friday.
  • I'm still here! Sorry I've been absent from The Bump for so long.

    Just takin' a little break.

How far along are you? What fruit/veggie are you? 17 weeks/Onion

How are you feeling? Feeling awesome! Kinda fat and lazy, but it's alll good. Loving this 2nd trimester!

Favorite moment of the week?  Finding the charger to my Doppler. I know, sounds lame. I live a pretty boring life. It's the little things that excite me. I had been looking for that thing for a week! Turns out, it was in plain sight. Baby brain is real, y'all.

Least favorite moment of the week? Every night of the week has been pretty awful this month because DH is on night shift. He leaves at 7 PM and doesn't return until 11 AM. Hence, the reason I am up at midnight on here. I hate sleeping without him!

How are your symptoms? Getting better? Worse? Any new ones? Definitely new ones since the last time I checked in (probably like 11 weeks?). The ligament pain is pretty awful at times. Sleeping on my left side is driving me crazy - shoulder and hip pain on that side. Oh, and one positive one - feeling baby move! It's still pretty sporadic, but oh so cool.

How is PGAL brain treating you? Any T&P requests? I still use the Doppler every couple of days, so obviously there is still some lurking PGAL brain. I thought I would've felt so confident at this point and been able to share on Facebook, but I have decided to wait until the anatomy scan (Sep. 3rd). I guess I have this idea that something could be horribly wrong and I would regret telling the whole world before I knew. Yeah, I still have PGAL pretty bad. But, feeling baby move and hearing that heartbeat is pretty darn reassuring!

Any upcoming appointments or milestones you're looking forward to?  Anatomy Scan 2 weeks from tomorrow... well, today I guess... it's past midnight now. It's on September 3rd, which is also my mom's birthday! I really want her to come visit me and go with me to the appointment. We'll see!

     ~*~*~*GTKY questions:~*~*~*

What are your favorite things about or what are you most looking forward to about this fall? Fall is the absolute best. I look forward to pretty much everything about it. My favorite part is just that magical feeling and smell in the air. I am also super stoked about winter clothes - scarves, boots, leg warmers. I also plan to do my maternity shoot mid-November at my house. We live on 15 acres of wooded mountain. The leaves should be gorgeous and the weather is always perfect that time of year here!
  • @SpartyKim So much love being sent to you today.

@Birch113 That class sounds awful.  I would much rather be with a provider I felt comfortable with.  And the pillow that I got is the LeachCo Back and Belly!  It is pretty huge, and it would not work if we didn't have cool nights/air conditioning (it would make me too hot), but I love it.  I like that it provides support on both sides.  I start on one side, but tend to roll to my back in the middle of the night - this pillow prevents me from rolling totally flat on my back.  Best of all is that my back and hips feel sooooo much better.

    @GrailSeeker14 Welcome to Tuesdays!!!!

@Bonnesetter27 Thanks for the recommendation of Babycatcher! I am reading Ina May right now and although she has some really great info, I'm not totally into her 'have your baby in a cabin in the woods' vibe.  Also her book is about 15 years old, which as far as current research goes is just ancient.   Thanks also for the GD encouragement!  I've been monitoring my blood sugars randomly after I passed the early 3 hour test, so I do expect to pass this one - the OB guilted me into having the second one just in case I was missing something with my at home testing.

@Bigboneded I would try not to worry too much about the weight gain (unless your doctor is worried, of course).  I gained 6 or 7lb in the first trimester, and then hung out at the same weight for a loooong time into my second tri.  I'm catching up now ;) and then some.  My weight gain has definitely been in fits and spurts, not at all a smooth and steady gain.

@SamanthaLaura16 Good Luck at your a/s!!!

@Keberly91 Glad to see you back!  Boo for YH's night shift; switching shifts is rough on everybody.

  • @Elysa15 Feeling the movement is awesome, it felt like it took forever for me to feel it then it was 24/7, I love it :-)
@SpartyKim T&P to you today, please update us, hope you get good news.
@Birch113 Sorry the instructor was annoying, I hope that the home study is helpful.
@Bonnesetter27 Wow I cannot believe how close you are, so exciting!  I've started reading to prep for birth but am realizing there's no way I'm going to be ready in time, so am starting to look into a doula as an option too.
    @GrailSeeker14 Congrats and welcome!!
@luciddreamer106 Congrats on the great results!  And yes, pumpkin and apple everything in about 2 weeks, can't wait :-)
@Bigboneded Sorry about the ticket nonsense, that all sounds really annoying.
@meagpt22 Team green too so I don't anticipate getting many outfits, I'm reeeeeally trying to hold out because I know it'll be fun to be semi-surprised, it's tough!
@SamanthaLaura16 Good luck at your A/S, definitely sending T&P for great results.  I was SO nervous before mine, TMI alert but I tend to get stress-related IBS issues and I got sick like 3-4 times in the 12 hours leading up to it.  I hope all goes well, can't wait for your update!  Also, I had also read that about sleeping/lying on your back, but I asked one of my drs about it and he said that at least in my case it was fine as long as I was comfortable.
@Keberly91 Welcome back!  2nd tri was great, and movement is so reassuring.
