Question about buying used toys

Hi ladies,

I am considering purchasing a lightly used tummy time activity gym (retails for $75 which is crazy to me and I can get it for $15 - $20 used). The mat is machine washable but the pull toys aren't and you can only spot clean. Silly FTM question but would you purchase this and if so, what would you use to spot clean the toys? I saw vinegar mentioned online but wondering what has worked for you ladies or am I being a complete cheapo and I should just get the tummy time gym full price or find a cheaper new option?

Thanks!

  • I used vinegar for everything. Also, the only items you *need* to buy new is the car seat and most likely your breast pump. Save some money where you can. Check Pinterest out for some ideas on how to clean second hand baby items.

  • I would totally buy it used. My rocker/glider, changing table, bouncy seat, swing, pack n' play and highchair are all second hand. So are my crib and cradle for that matter. They were all pretty clean before, so I just washed things really well and ta-da! :)
  • I bought a secondhand swing and wiped down the plastic parts with a vinegar solution.

My mind is in the gutter. I read the subject of this thread and thought it was about an entirely different kind of toy.
Glad I'm not the only one! I don't think it's helping that the where'd the vagina angle thread is right next to this one.  =))

Hahaha!!! That's hilarious! Nope -- none of "those" kind of toys here lol

  • Are the toys detachable?  Can yo put them in the dishwasher?

I am going to pick it up tomorrow. Thanks ladies! They are detachable and from what I see online says spot clean only. I can always buy the replacement parts I guess.
