It has been on the top of our girl list since the very beginning of this pregnancy. Every once in a while I get hesitant about it, but I still keep going back to it.
What are you opinions? The middle name would be London.
It is on the top of DH's list. I think it is very pretty but I am worried that people will not know how to say or spell it. We have a tough last name so I don't want her cursed twice. I haven't given up on it yet. I LOVE Emily, but it is #1.
Amelie is very pretty. I don't understand using London as a name of a baby- it's the name of a city.
London is my moms maiden name. It isnt just the name of a city to us, it has meaning. And since we arent likely to ever use her first or middle name for a child we can still honor her by using her maiden name.

Got it. That makes sense. Sorry for jumping to conclusions... I'm just so over the Brooklyn, Sydney, name-that-city trend!
And fwiw, I like it MUCH Better than Amelia; I've never liked the "mealy" sound in the middle of Amelia (which also just makes me think "Amelia Bedelia.") My name is Amy and people would sometimes call me Amelia or ask if Amy was short for Amelia, and I always hated that; I just thought it was an ugly name. (No offense to anyone who has or has used the name; just giving my "honest" opinion as requested. )
I knew the cutest girl in high school named Amelie. I do have to tell you though that kids would tease her and call her omelet. However, kids can be jerks and you'll have that with any name.

It's a gorgeous combination and what a lovely, lovely reason for a middle name!
I love it! ?But then, my DD is named Amalie, so I am biased. ?Honestly, the first time I heard it, I was so-so. ?Then, during my pregnancy, I grew to love it. ?Now, I think it is the best name ever, fits DD to a tee, and how will we ever be able to come up with half as great of a name for #2? ?I like it with London, b/c of the family significance.
Re: Honest opinions about the name Amelie
It is pronounced like Emily, but with an Ah- sound at the beginning.
Ditto.

I like Amelie!
To me it sounds a little weird with London, but since that's only the MN, NBD.
I agree. The stresses aren't right. Amelia London or Emily London work better.
I think it will be mispronounced frequently. She'll also spend her life spelling it for people.
It's very pretty though.
However, it's very French. So I think it looks quite odd with London as a middle name.

We get lots of compliments on the name Amalie.?
