NC moms nearby?

This is a long shot but I live in gastonia nc and don't have any friends with kids. Anyone out there live in the area that could suggest activities for me to get involved with so I could meet some other moms? I have looked online but can't really find anything

I found a 'new moms' group on Facebook for my city. I joined and then realized a couple of my friends were part of the group already (point being there were what I'd call 'normal' people in the group). People post questions and they meet up from time to time. Good luck!

Uh, you realize the interwebs is full of crazies, right? And since you appear to have spent very little time getting to know people on this birth month board, why would you put yourself out there like that? Try the local boards on here, maybe you'll have some luck there.

Wow, just looking for suggestions. I read these posts often for advice and guidance but don't necessarily post bc I am was apprehensive that people would judge or be rude. Thanks for proving me right. I thought this was supposed to be a place for support

Thanks to the rest of the ladies who offered suggestions. Meetup and moms club only have stuff for Charlotte which is 30 minutes away (too much driving with a 3 month old). Libraries are a good idea, thanks.

Support doesn't mean blowing rainbows up everyone's ass. Sorry this isn't the hair braiding, pillow fights, and make out sessions you hoped it would be. You obviously haven't read much on The Bump at all. Maybe BabyCenter, or BabyGaga are more your speed.

I think what you really mean is "Thank you for looking out. Gastonia isn't terribly big, and I wasn't thinking about the fact that it would just take a few clicks and a Go Ogle search, or an 'offer' to meet up with me, for some creepster to be able to do something bad."
