Aw, thanks! I'm so glad you're enjoying it.

@KM380 Open windows are the best. Gotta enjoy them while we can! I'm sitting here freezing in my air-conditioned office.

I'm doing pretty well. I feel like I'm finally getting back into a groove at work after being off several days last week for surgery & recovery. Trying to tackle the pile of stuff that built up while I was gone... of course being on TB doesn't help.

  • Morning/almost afternoon everyone!
It's overcast here and looks like it is going to rain here.  No swimming tonight =(

  • Good morning!

I have a surprise day off today. It actually worked out well since one of the smoke detectors decided to have the battery die last night. Apparently, Mr Bug can sleep through anything!

I ended getting up at 2 AM, walking the dogs (and having one of them decide he did not want to return to the house) and then changing the batteries in the smoke detectors. I also read some for awhile since I was wide awake at that point.

I pretty much feel like this now:

OMG, I hate it when that happens. Ours is super obnoxious, too, and actually says "FIRE" in this creepy robotic voice. I hope you can take a nap today!

  • @buggirl72‌ that is the worst! How scary mr bug slept through it. Are your dogs scared of it? The battery died in ours recently while we were at work. I came home to find the poor dog shaking and she had peed. Now any time it goes off if I'm cooking she freaks out and we have to take her out immediately. So sad. I hope you nap!

  • Hi everyone, I just finished grading some papers from a summer course, just in time for the semester to start in a week!  I had planned to do some yard work but got destroyed by mosquitoes in about 5 minutes even with repellent on so nevermind to that!

negritosmami my husband and I were just saying how great this summer was in Maryland, barely had to use the air conditioners!

@BookishMomma I have been meaning to ask for the info on how to get your book!

@buggirl72 you always have the best gifs!
  • Good morning - er, afternoon I mean.  I am trying to motivate myself to get ready for work (obviously I am doing a fantastic job at that).  It's my Monday :'(

My lab is terrified of the actual smoke alarm but did not seem to be bothered by the beep of the dead battery warning. My other dog was the one that decided enough was enough.
