Hi everyone! STM to 6 day old twin girls. I've been EBF since they were born. With my DS I was not very successful BF and only did it for 7 weeks due to low supply and him having a milk protein allergy. This time around, I seem to be establishing a pretty good supply, which I am very excited about. However, I definitely would love for my husband to partake in the feedings as well as build a stash for when I go back to work and for my husband to use when need be. When would be the best time to start pumping and when should I do it? I've been reading and receiving conflicting information and would love of hear what you ladies do. Lastly, what is the best way to start building a stash? Thank you!!!!
Re: When to start pumping
With my 2nd son I pumped once a day for several weeks to build up a good stash. I chose to pump in the evening, right before I went to bed. This was when he was older, about 4 or 5 months old. He was already sleeping through the night, which is why I chose the evening. You can choose whatever time works best for you.
I would definitely just do it once a day. Don't except to pump much out, either. This is why you have to do it for a few weeks.
