Sunday Overdue Thread

Noticing many overdue threads and figured it might be nice for us overdue gals to have a daily place to vent / ask questions / offer support. What do you think? Seems like there are a lot of us with extra snugly babies.

How is everyone feeling? Ready to murder the next person who texts / calls you asking where baby is? Feeling deflated? Scared you may have to be induced? That's the kind of stuff we can chat about here. Annnnnd....go! ;)

Re: Sunday Overdue Thread

  • 6 days past, and I'm super crabby, grumpy, and don't want to deal with anyone, my kids included. Even worse, DH goes back to working nights tonight, so now I'm stuck with the little brats even more.

  • 5 days past due here. I'm still feeling like labor is a million years away, but tomorrow I go in for a dose of cytotec to ripen my cervix. The doctor prepped me to not expect to deliver tomorrow, but at least it should help move things along. I feel terrible because my parents are here and spending a fortune on a hotel (our place is too small to host them) and most likely will only get a day or two with their grandchild, but I'm hoping to avoid a c/s and pitocin if I can, so I'm happy with our plan. Still, this waiting sucks.
    TTC Since July 2013
    BFP #1 8/8/13, EDD 4/16/14
    MMC discovered on 9/18/13 @ 10w, baby measuring 9w. D&C on 9/26/13

    BFP #2 12/7/13
    , EDD 8/12/13. It's a girl!
Caroline Marie born 8/20/14. 8lbs 11oz, 21 inches and perfect!

  • My doctor won't consider an induction before 42 weeks, as long as everyone is healthy. I am glad, because this aligns well with my own preferences, but I'm still kind of bummed to think that I might be pregnant for 12 more days. I really hope I go before that.

Today I'm going to watch my friend try on wedding dresses, which should be fun. I'm half hoping I have a big, dramatic, movie-style water breaking scene right in the middle of the bridal shop. It would make a great story! Do you think they'll make me buy a dress if I get amniotic fluid on it?
  • 4 days past due here. My mom is in town too and hopefully baby gets here before she has to leave and drive back 1200 miles away....none of our family lives in the same state as us. I too am sick of the texts and calls too. I've had zero symptoms til this morning when I lost my mucus plug and contractions 8 minutes apart. Hope this means something!

Same on the 42 week thing here. Also, you MUST have your water break today at the dress shop. Classic.

  • 2 days past due and I feel better than I did three weeks ago. Which is annoying in it's own way. Mainly because I should feel like I could have this baby anytime and I don't. I feel like she is waiting on a formal eviction notice. Which she will get somewhat soon. So yay for baby "soon!" Also I have stopped answering all baby texts. Guess what people, when I know you will know. Your constant reminders that baby isn't here does not help anyone, especially me.

Sadly, I am home from wedding dress shopping with water still intact. We did discuss the possibility of faking it so that my friend could run out of the shop in her favorite dress to "take me to the hospital," but ultimately decided against it.

Did she at least FIND a dress?

  • YES!!! Everyone, people I don't even ever talk to included, is messaging me on fb, texting and some ladies even asking me to call them. Seriously??!? I'll freakin put it up on fb when she's born!! Lol! All the questions don't help me as I'm already 10 days overdue. You don't think WE want to know when the baby is coming too?? Haha!! So glad to vent here. We do have an induction scheduled for this week though so the end is in sight regardless!! I'll be one day short of 42 weeks when we hopefully deliver/go into labor. Hoping she comes before then though!!
  • Oh!! Has anyone has people assuming they are going to come to the hospital to see baby?? I've had quite a few people mention "when I come to the hospital to visit" and I had to interrupt and say, "Yeah, only family will be coming to the hospital." Which is mostly true. Family and suuuper close friends. But one girl told me today that one of our mutual friends (a photography student and client of mine-not a personal friend) invited herself to come with her to visit us in the hospital! Haha!! That's when I interrupted to break the news that neither of them would be coming. Why is it that people just assume they get such incredibly special privileges?? I will have just pushed a freakin HUMAN out of my VAGINA!! Not going to be in the mood for all of my Facebook friends and their Moms to come see us. Haha!! Okay. Rant over... I seriously hope I'm not the only one here... Lol!!

She did, but out of her price range. Beautiful dress, had the tearing up moment and everything. She is at home thinking about it now.
  • People messaging me with:
    - pictures of their other friends' newborns who were due after mine
    - comments like 'wow you've got a stubborn baby huh!'
    - comments like 'woah hope baby arrives soon an induction would be a NIGHTMARE'
    - comments like 'my kids all arrived naturally at 39 weeks, what's wrong with yours?'
    Etc
    Are NOT helpful!!!
