should i go to the ER?

in 3rd Trimester
Ok so i went to the er last night cause i was peeing way more then what i had tooken in and they said and showed me i was having contractions but i didn't feels them....at all so the put me on fuilds for a hour till they stopped and then they sent me home. All day today everyone has been telling me i have dropped and i lost my mucus plug! I'm 27 weeks today. what should i do?

    Dropping and mucus plug have nothing to do with labor. Your mucus plug can regenerate itself.

    ETA-- Go to the ER if you have continuous contractions, bleeding or your water breaks.

    WTF? It's a waste of the ER's time, resources & medical professional's skills to attend to a pregnant woman who is urinating frequently. That's like taking a toddler in because they throw tantrums. For God's sake-- the ER is for emergencies.
    100%this. I can't believe they didn't laugh her ass out the door. It frightens me, the people who are reproducing.

    These boards are supposed to be informative here. Why so nasty?!? Most people ask questions for advice because they honestly are unsure!
    BTW I went to the ER and told them I thought I was in labor and the fools laughed. Now tell me that's professional and I'll laugh at YOU!

    Oh and I'm scheduled for a c section for medical reasons. I cannot have a normal delivery so therefore, ER was the place for me at that time.

    I ended up having BH but I wanted to be sure it wasn't the real thing:-) and as far as what it had to do with original post? I was just giving my opinion and my own experience....While i do agree that frequent urination doesn't warrant an ER trip, I feel that attacking someone is wrong. That's all....

    Wow.  Everyone should just relax and answer the OP's concerns.  If you don't have a response or think it warrants no response, then move on.  OP, if your doctor doesn't have a 24-hour nurse on call to discuss your concerns and you are worried, then go to the ER.  Only you know if the "excessive peeing" is more than normal for you and your pregnancy.  You should always follow your instincts and get any weird feeling, pain, bleeding, or peeing checked out.

    It's people like you that shouldn't be having anymore babies.

    She was curious, she had a question, don't push her out and make her feel inward? THIS IS A FAMILY ORIENTED WEBSITE!!

    Do not encourage this woman to show up & take attention from REAL EMERGENCIES. Also? With the really bad bugs, viruses & flu already this season showing up in the ER for peeing a lot during pregnancy is stupid.

    It's a good way to take a non-issue & get really sick. It's irresponsible to give advice like this.

    Finally, we did answer her original question: NO. Even extraordinary number of trips to the loo is not usual & is not at all a problem during pregnancy. Seriously.

    If your doctor doesn't have a 24 hour call line then you need to find a new doctor. Unless you're peeing blood or rainbows the ER is not the place to go.
