I need you expert opinions *pic inside*

So I have noticed some "teething tendencies" but what do I know. My mom says they normally get their two front teeth in first but this looks like a canine. The rest of her gums are flat and then BAM a big bump. I know I posted something somewhat related to this the other day but there is now a significant difference in her gums. If it is in fact a tooth trying to peek through, what can I do to ease her pain. She is still not an expert at grabbing and holding things as I have already tried teething rings.

    No expert but I have heard teeth can go up and down before actually popping through which makes it such a tease.

    But no idea if it's any tooth though as they usually get their bottom front first.

    Dunno, but the picture is so cute! DD1 loved her frozen teethers but she didn't get teeth until 6months old and would put everything in the mouth anyways at that point. Maybe try a frozen washcloth?

    Seriously is a tease and idk how to treat it. And also heard they get their front bottoms or tops first

    We got a leaflet from the dentist that says bottom front two first, then top two. But you never know. I was also going to suggest a frozen washcloth. That may be easier for her to hang onto. My LO will suck/gum on her shirts, bibs, and blankets when she can get them into her mouth.

    She bites the wash cloth but gives me a funny look. She still can't figure out how to hold it in her mouth thogh. Thanks all for your help. I got orajel as well

    We are going through the same thing here! Fun times! LO has a bottom canine...looks like your picture. He keeps waking up screaming and grabbing his mouth. I feel bad for him..also got orajel and using cold tethers. no real advice here, but hope your DD feels better!

    No advice since I'm a FTM but that pic is adorable! Also my niece got her top two canines in first and looked like a little vampire.

    This. I think with DS1 he had the molars pop out a bit around 3-4 months but recede before his front teeth came in.

    DS1 got his canines first as well. You just never know. I've heard mixed reviews on oragel as some say it can possibly numb their throat and they can choke. So I was always afraid to use it. But they make teething tablets that are all natural and really do soothe your little one. I know i didn't give DS one though until he was older and could eat it. So you might check the age for those but they really do work, once they're able to eat them. Good luck teeth are hard!

    Thanks for all your input guys! I have also heard good things about the teething tablets so I'm going to try those!

    Camilla is also highly recommended.

    No orajel - can cause choking from numbing their mouth.

    Definitely no orajel!! She should be old enough for Tylenol of she seems especially uncomfortable. You also may try freezing pacifiers.

    Canines first definitely happen sometime. Both of my kids had puffy canine areas at around this age and but my son got top two, bottom two and 4 molars before canines! Teething tablets are awesome.

    I have nothing to add, but upon reading the comments I am so hoping my LO has canine teeth first so she looks like a cute vampire!!!

    Love the Idea of the paci in the fridge. I'm trying that now. also, the orajel is a homeopathic natural baby orajel and I think it was a waste of money because it did not numb my tongue at all when I tried it.ii think it's just like a coater

    ETA: it's also free of benzocaine

    Frozen baby wash cloth to chew on works for my LO. She also is chewing on her fist and soft blankets a lot all of sudden which seems to comfort her. I think the orajel and other topical are just washed away with saliva rather quickly, so they are kind of a waste. I recall with #1 it didn't seem to take affect with all the drooling.
