Re: 5.5 weeks and brown discharge tonight

  • I experienced the same thing around the middle of my 5th week. Light brown, only when wiping, and lasted about two days. It's a week later now and has stopped and everything is still progressing well to my knowledge. I have a OB appt. next week so keeping my fingers crossed but feeling positive. This is my first, but my sister let me know this was common throughout both of her pregnancies. The best advice I received was to rest as much as possible, drink a lot of water, and try to relax. Sending positive thoughts your way! :)

  • Thank you SO much!!! It was just when wiping also!!! This is my 1st. We have been trying for over a year. :)
  • This happened to me today too at 5w5d. It is definitely unnerving! As hard as it is, try not to stress about it. As long as it's not bright red or soaking a pad in an hour, it's nothing to be alarmed about and is pretty "normal" .

  • Should I quit working out?? And REST?

Pregnancy is not a time to "overdo it." That said, you can **usually** continue to participate in the same level of activity as prepregnancy. Definitely something you should discuss with your doctor.

Ditto what the other ladies said about spotting- it can be common and although it's hard not to worry, the best you can try to do is relax. Good luck!

  • I spotted at the same time! I freaked our a bit, but read a bunch of stuff in here and calmed down a lot. Mine only lasted three days. I called 3 of my doctors to ask them about it and they all said that it's common. If it's bad cramping or a lot of blood, then you should head to the ER. Try to chill! Hope it helps!
