Every time I eat eggs it a matter of minutes (still sitting at the table) I get cramps and then have to run to the bathroom. Not an answer to your question, but a fun fact nonetheless.
missnacholover I don't think there is a correlation between momma's feelings and baby's allergies. But for food tastes I've heard a lot of people say that what they ate a lot of during pregnancy is what their LO eats a lot of... Not sure if I totally believe that...Actually I don't believe it at all because of my experience with DD...

My kid is going to love the shit out of Kraft Mac N Cheese then.
Not sure about baby's food tastes, but I thought I heard/read somewhere that if mom eats something, baby is LESS likely to have an allergy to it (i.e. eggs). No clue if that's true or not.
I don't know any facts on this subject, but I was just wondering if my baby is going to hate formula after tasting all the delicious cookies I have been eating.

Have you ever had an allergy test yourself? Egg allergies are very common (specifically the york) and sometimes women have absolutely no symptoms of an allergy before becoming pregnant... and then once not pregnant anymore the symptoms stop again. Have you tried making just an egg white omelette?
It could be as simple as a food aversion - I have no idea, really. Just a thought.
I read a study not too long ago about women who ate nuts during pregnancy had a lower rate of babies with nut allergies - link - but I have no idea how that correlates to other foods, or if anyone has even reproduced this study/a similar one with the same results.
I have not, but that's interesting.
I'm pretty sure it's just food aversion, but I was just wondering if anyone knew of or had experience with there being some sort of connection!

My mil made quite the big deal over the fact that I can eat eggs without getting sick but she certainly couldn't with any of her pregnancies. I'm pretty sure she thought there was something wrong with my pregnancy early on because of this single fact.
For what it's worth, all 7 of her kids eat eggs and like them fine :-)
Hmm...I've never heard that one before. As for the baby not liking things the mom had an aversion to during pregnancy, my mom had a major aversion to tuna fish while pregnant (just the smell of it made her sick) and I've always loved it. So that's my anecdotal evidence that means diddly.

Yea I have never seen any research stating there's a correlation between mom's food aversions and children's allergies. Personally I LOVE dairy and eggs, ate it all the time with my first pregnancy. My first has been intolerant of dairy and eggs most her life
I was told by a Dr to avoid peanuts while pregnant to avoid my baby getting a peanut allergy. But lately research is saying that if mom eats a food in moderation it's better than avoiding it as far as allergies go. I'm just trying to eat everything in moderation and we'll see what happens with 2nd kid.
My only exception to this is chocolate and oreos....those foods have not been eaten in moderation :P
I don't think there is a correlation to allergies. Don't quote me though.
However, there is a connection with what a mother eats while pregnant and what you like or dislike later in life. What you eat can flavor the amniotic fluid, which baby swallows throughout pregnancy, and your baby can develop a taste for it.
Eggs make me super sick too. Like, if i eat them without nausea meds, i'm worshipping the porcelain god within an hour. It's sad because i used to live salsa eggs with chicken sausage.
But yeah, correlations seem to depend on the mom and the kid. My mom drank tons of dr pepper with my sister and she adores it. She ate tons of ice cream with me and i developed dairy issues later in life, around my teens. I dig me some ice cream, but i prefer salt and spice, both of which my mom hates. So depends i guess!
More anecdotal evidence to the contrary - my mom craved tomatoes throughout her entire pregnancy with me. I was allergic to tomatoes until I hit puberty.

I have a pretty severe egg allergy - I just called my mom and she ate egg her whole pregnancy. So I'm going with not correlated.
