I've been thinking if purchasing the silver glider - Kacy collection at babies r us. Anyone have any experience with this one? Anyone love a different kind of glider?
We decided not to get a glider, instead we got a small recliner. My sister had a glider and it was comfortable to sit in and rock the baby, but when you wanted to put your feet up and relax with the baby, it wasn't comfortable.
My sister had a Newco glider and ottoman, it was the chenille. I loved it! I am actually going to get the same one, they are pricey but they are extremely soft, comfortable, and wide enough if I would want to curl up in it that I could. She had twins and when they were 1, the three of them could all sit comfortably to read in it.

I have no experience with gliders. I was wondering with my breast feeding if I even need a glider. I would assume I would be stationary to breast feed so I may just get a rocker or something similar for non feeding. I don't know yet. My neice got a simple glider from kmart that served the purpose. It was around $125.
We looked at a lot of gliders, but for us spending $500+ just didn't seem reasonable. We ended up finding a small recliner at a furniture outlet store for less than $250.
not getting a glider. we are getting a poang rocker from ikea. we live in a very small space and i need furniture that can be useful in many places. when we're done w/ rocker in baby room, it can easily transition to the living room. i wasn't able to find any gliders that would work in that way (or that weren't some combination of too big or too expensive).
I am considering that same glider from BRUS. Going to add it to the registry to see if we get gift cards to go towards it. I love that the silver fabric is stock so it doesn't need to be special ordered.
I scored a Pottery Barn rocker on craigist for $275 (usually $1000.) Worth a look at Craigslist. The people I got mine from had two and this one was only used about 15 times over the course of their 3 children.
@emp156 I have looked at the IKEA Poang Rocker and love the style and the compactness but am afraid it's going to be hard to get in and out of with a sleeping newborn. Have you tried it out? Any thoughts on that?
I got this...from Walmart, surprisingly. I love it and can't wait to actually be able to use it! It's comfy and I thought it was such a good deal also!
We purchased a Best Chairs glider that has the option to recline. Looove it! It's so comfortable, and we love how it reclines too. I can see myself napping in it. It's currently sitting in our room as we have not cleaned out the guest room yet. I've started using it the day we picked it up. We're thinking of purchasing another one for our room after we move this one over to the nursery. I'm petite and purposely chose a roomier glider so that it would have plenty of room to accommodate me, baby, plus a nursing pillow. It would be great for when our child is a little older for story time as well.
We got ours from Buy Buy Baby. They have a wider selection there. We also used a 20% coupon and opted out on the piping which saved us another $50.
@AlleyMM - good call! most of my furniture is quite low, so i didn't really think twice. but i should really try getting in and out holding something... hmmm
We tried out a lot of chairs and ended lup loving a dutalier. It is costing a small fortune but glides, locks into place and reclines. It is stylish enough to go into another room in our house afterwards. Hopefully it's an investment that pays off!

We have a glider in DD's room. It's been great, but we wanted something a little more comfy (though the glider is comfortable as well). This room is smaller so we also didn't want to have an ottoman that got in the way of free space. So, we opted for a rocker with a hidden footrest this time.

The rocker we bought from BBB isn't on their website, but it's similar to @Princycesa07's - only a solid dark purple instead of the polka dots.

Ours just came on Friday- we bought a Dutailier sleigh glider/ottoman that reclines. It was really pricey, but it is SO comfortable. My brother also has a Dutailier that has lasted for 4+ years and 2 kids and still looks great, so I'm hoping it's a good investment. FYI, we bought ours off of Hayneedle and it came in like 10 days. I thought it would take 12 weeks from what all the furniture stores told us, but apparently not on this site.

I found this glider gently loved on Craigs List for a STEAL! I can't wait to use it. Until we clear more stuff out of the soon-to-be nursey, DH has been using it in the living room.
We just got a Dutailier Uzon Glider and Ottoman from a friend for $400, it's only a year old. I think they retail for close to $1300, plus the additional for the ottoman, so we were very excited! It's super comfy and modern so it will actually fit into our living room furniture nicely when we don't need it as a glider anymore.
