Have anyone used one? There are so many choices. Belly Bandit seems very popular, but also the most expensive. Is it just the name or is it truly superior?
I don't think the Belly Bandid is that expensive. I was just looking at them the other day...around $30? But that might be because I know other ones I've seen are up to $100.
I might order one. I don't think they are a miracle product, but I want to get back to running ASAP after the baby, and I might need the extra core support. The problem is knowing what size to get. It's not like I have any idea how big I'll be the day after I have the baby.
The belly bandit I was looking at was more like $70, but have seen off brands for less. I also think it would be best to have 2 so one can be in the wash. They are a support band that helps your midsection during the post partum period. www.bellybandit.com
I just wear a small compression tank top from Target. I think it is called Bare Necessities. It does the same thing as the girdle type things. It for me keep from having what I call sloshy tummy.
After the baby comes your insides kind of feel sloshy like 1/2 water in an over puffed up balloon. I don't mean the skin being squishy.
I got the belly bandit and wear it now and then I flip it backwards post partum to support my muscles. Mine was between $60-$70. I thought it was way more supportive than other support belts and I figured any post partum benefits are just a bonus. I've also seen hip compressors for anyone interested in those. It supposedly pushes your hips back to where they were pre-pregnancy.
@pnwlover12 mine is pretty comfortable. Nothing like spanx! The biggest problem with mine is just the bulky feeling having an extra layer that is sorta stiff under everything. Mine basically reminds me of the back braces they wear at home improvement stores. Sounds pretty huh?! Luckily it is under my clothes so nobody sees it.
I used the belly bandit previously but it would ride up the side of my big hips when I was seated. I am looking at mother tucker ( tank top but very expensive) and c-panty since I am having a RCS.
I got a deal on zulily so I bought one. It's basically a girdle for postpartum @Nicb13
I guess I still don't understand why you would need that......
ETA: oh wait, C-section recover? That makes sense!
Not just for c-section, after delivery you'll feel like your insides are falling back into place. I've never used one, but was considering it this time, that feeling is so weird & uncomfortable.
You know not pregnant... Most people have the indention where your underwear sits daily. It is from fat displacement. It is the same thing when you constantly compress with a girdle or compression tank after birth. It supports your insides but as things go back down it forces water and the fat settling to smooth itself out. It gives the illusion of a flatter stomach plus it makes it easier for your abdominal wall to come back together because your muscles are more relaxed and not having to support your gut AND move back.

This is the one I purchased and it works great for a very nice price. It not only supports your belly area but also helps pull those hips back in. I highly recommend it if you don't want to pay a bunch of $$$$. No they are not the most comfortable thing, but the results are well worth wearing them and you don't have to wear them for long to see results, especially when you have had as many babies as I have.....lol! :-)

I never known anyone to use one of these and my OB or other doctors/nurses have never mentioned it, even when in the hospital with DS. I don't think it's necessary but could be good for some people I suppose.

Look up post partum binding. They gave a girdle to support to csections here at a lot of hospitals

I do think it makes the sloshy feel better and it's easier on your body to recover
