My DD got tubes in July and has her first post-tubes cold this week. Before tubes a snotty cold basically meant an ear infection was coming so I am on high alert.
For moms of kids with tubes... I was told to look for "ear discharge" and if it is present to go in because that means ear infection. How much and what am I looking for? Her ear canals have some yellow waxy stuff in them (naturally she is wayyy averse to me cleaning them out well so I assume this is natural). I just don't want to miss something because she has been through enough.
Any experience with this would be helpful, thanks so much.
Re: Moms of Tubes-kids?
From my experience, you'll know the difference between wax and infection discharge. I mean, I have a picture if you think that would be helpful, but I don't want anyone to lose their lunch while innocently surfing TB. Can we PM a picture? If so, and you're interested, let me know and I'll shoot it your way. (or PM me your email address)
