New mom need help to go back to work

My baby is six month now, and I am thinking go back to work. Because I only nursing after he born, so now he doesn't drink any formula and doesn't use any bottle, what can I do?

Re: New mom need help to go back to work

  • At this age I would start working on dippy cups and skip the bottle altogether.

  • I knew someone whose child refused bottles, she was a teacher, luckily had her off period either before or after the lunch period (can't remember what she said), and she made arrangements with the principal to go to the daycare during her off period and nurse. If you have that flexibility, you could always go to the daycare and nurse (at drop-off, lunch, and pick-up). And you could start solids for the caregivers to feed in-between.

  • You should post on the breastfeeding board. Have you tried to pump? How many different bottles have you tried?

  • I try Avent,Medela,Tommee and the one from hospital. I use bottle from 1pm to 6pm, because day time he would't cry a lot.
  • We had a similar problem when DS was born---we tried probably six different types of bottles. Finally what ended up working the best was the cheap Evenflo bottles. https://www.amazon.com/Evenflo-Advanced-Angled-Bottle-3-Count/dp/B00ASK7QBS/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1408380962&sr=8-10&keywords=evenflo+baby+bottles

You may also want to look at the nipple size of the bottle. There are different flows---maybe trying to change that up might help as well.

  • And have someone other than you try to feed baby a bottle.  Mine was a pain in the butt when I tried to give him a bottle.  Since I was holding him he expected to nurse.
