Breastfeeding

Weaning schedule?

It's time to start weaning for multiple reasons. (Sorry, don't try to talk me out of it- I know how you bump ladies are!). I have been looking for some sort of weaning schedule on the order to drop feedings, but can't find anything online... Trying to formulate a schedule for a four week plan to drop nursing sessions but keep pumping so my supply doesn't tank. Any recommendations for resources or plans that worked for you? TIA

Re: Weaning schedule?

  • LO is 12 weeks old; I need to be done by the end of September, hence the four week goal with a two week buffer. He has been EBF and I've only dropped one nursing session per day so far. Not sure if I should switch to a bottle for one of the overnights next? Or alternate times of day?

  • So I'm confused now about what you're trying to do. Weaning generally implies stopping breastfeeding all together. Though, in the UK it means introducing solids but it doesn't sound like either of those apply to what your'e trying to do. If you're BFing, I don't know why you would want to switch to pumping, most women only pump while at work or away from baby, or EP because baby is unable to nurse for a variety of reasons.
