Water?

This morning my mom gave dd an oz of water to "calm her down". It worked very well and now she and my husband want to try giving it to her more regularly.

Kelly mom says "2 oz a day for fun is fine". I just don't want to do anything that'll hurt my supply.

Anyone have any thoughts? Been there? Already doing this?

We give DD water when she gets hiccups, but it's only about a quarter of an ounce. Makes them go away pretty much instantly. That's the only time she's had it though.

With both kids I haven't done water till I started solids (so dd hasn't had any yet) and just in a sippy cup to get the hang of it. I've never given water in a bottle

I've given water out of a cup (regular, not sippy) about three times in the past two weeks. She likes trying out the cup. She only gets a couple sips - most of which pours down her chin and shirt. I don't think I would do water in a bottle unless some weird circumstances called for it.

My lc finally got back to me and she said the same thing, only after she starts solids. We were kinda hoping we could use water for when she won't settle because she wants to suck on something. Oh well
