Hey ladies,
I just wanted to give a quick intro! Some of you may recognize me from ttcal but I have really only been active the last 2 months so, maybe not.
My name is April and H and I have been married 2 years. We have a 16 month son with whom I had a very uneventful pregnancy with. In December we got pregnant with baby 2. I found out at 12w5d that our LOs heart stopped at 11 weeks and we needed a d&c. Understandably, I was devastated. All pathology reports came back clear for us to try again after our next cycle.
I was thrilled to find out in May that we were expecting again. My joy quickly turned to sorrow as I had a natural miscarriage at 5w3d.
My OB and I came up with a plan for a future pregnancy filled with "early surveillance." I was excited to try again after having a plan in place. The week after our appointment my OB got killed in a motorcycle accident (I wrote about this story on ttcal and got tons of support during this time which was awesome) and I was filled with devastation over the loss of a great man that was there for me during the most joyous and most difficult days of my life. I felt lost at what this meant for a future pregnancy.
On Friday I took a test 9dpo and got a strong positive. I was so excited but terrified. What do I do now? How do I explain my "plan" to another doc and will they be on board? I called the clinic, the doc I wanted to see (I saw him during my 2nd miscarriage while my OB was on vacation and he was very proactive and our personalities clicked) was on vacation so I was sent to the new OB at the clinic. I was very underwhelmed by her. I pretty much had to twist her arm to get any blood work done (which was in my and my original OBs plan) and I felt like she brushed off my plan I had with him. I wanted to punch her straight in the throat. Needless to say, I will not be going back to her and will be sticking with the other OB that I initially wanted to go to.
So now I wait for blood work results (Monday evening) as I sit here and try to swat away every pgal thought that enters my brain. And I'm left figuring out the best way to contact my new OB to find out what our plan will be and how it will be revised from my plan with my original OB.
Anyway, sorry for the mega long intro! Thanks for reading and having me!
