  No, you can't throw it. And as these really aren't common, I wouldn't expect his buddies to really think to throw one. Stop asking people to, though. That's tacky also.
  
  And i kind of roll my eyes that people need to throw him a party because he loves being the center of attention. That will lead you all to doing tacky things - like asking friends to throw him a party.
  
  If he wants to hang with his buddies, he can call them and go out for drinks. He doesn't need to be THE center of attention.

  The OP was basically "My DH likes to be the center of attention and likes to hang out with his buddies.  He'd love a daddy shower.  As none of his friends offered to throw one, I asked one of his friends.  He said no.  Is it o.k. if I throw him a shower?".
