So, I have achieved every goal I had for breastfeeding, 2 months, 6 months, 1 year but planned to be DONE by 18 months. Somehow I am still breastfeeding at 22 months, but SERIOUSLY want to be done by 24 months if not before. "Don't ask, don't refuse" has not worked at all because this girl would nurse like she is 6 months old if she could. She asks all the time at home and in public. It's almost always her preferred meal. When she was 20 months we had only been nursing once at nap time and once at bedtime, she is a "nurse to sleep" kiddo has been her whole life. Although sometimes she falls asleep on her own it is rare. I went a whole 24 hours without BF recently due to DH being hospitalized and my SIL nicely described what sounded to me like pure hell that she went through when she kept her overnight for us. I was also SUPER engorged and in INTENSE pain. I have no clue what to do. Maybe I'm too lazy and just don't want to deal with the madness. I'm just ready to stop for many reasons, even though I know I will miss it.
Anyone else go/going through something similar?
How do/did you dry up your milk without intense pain?
