December 2014 Moms

I can wait until tomorrow, right?

So I woke up late Thursday night with a deep cough. By Friday afternoon my chest was raw. I figured just a dumb cold so I was going to wait it out. Yesterday, I was at school and find out a girl I often have lunch with didn't just have a sore throat this week... She had bronchitis. In fact, her mom has upgraded to pneumonia. So here I am, still feeling horrible, wondering if I should bother my doctor on a Sunday or just wait until morning. My chest is still raw, I'm so achy even my cheeks feel stiff, and there is a slight low grade fever. If it were just a cold I'd be fine. But being exposed to something more serious makes me nervous.

Re: I can wait until tomorrow, right?

  • I would certainly contact a doctor. My cousin had a cough when she was pregnant with her son and kept putting it off and was eventually hospitalized for 2 weeks with pnemonia and ended up having her son a month and a half early. I'm not sure what the relation to delivery and pneumonia was and it's possible they weren't related at all I just know she didn't leave the hospital until well after her son was born. Either way, personally I'd want piece of mind even if it was a Sunday.

  • It only just started late Thursday/ early Friday though. So it's not like I'm putting it off necessarily because it's just the weekend, not days or weeks. The office isn't open today but there is an emergency line that goes through to an on call doctor
  • I would wait until the morning.

  • I would probably wait until tomorrow, especially if your fever is low grade. Most likely an on call doc will tell you to go to an Urgent care or ER if you feel like you need to but it doesn't sound like an emergency to me. Of course, I'm no Dr!!!
