Tips on giving medicine

E has yet another double ear infection (yay), and she fights me tooth and nail when I try to give her the amox. I am concerned that she isn't swallowing enough of it after it's all over because I'm having to mop it off her hands and face from her spitting it out. I'm afraid if she isn't getting the full dose that maybe that's why the infection came back.

Any advice? helpful tips?

It actually IS flavored. It tastes like candy. I think it must be a texture thing for her. She liked it the first couple of doses and then suddenly became repulsed by it.

Could you maybe mix it into a small amount of applesauce? I don't know if this is even ok to do lol I'm just trying to think of a way for her to get the full dosage

The only thing we've ever had work is to do it VERY slowly so that so little is in their mouth at a time that they almost can't spit it out, kwim? We also make sure to put the dropper toward his cheek and pretty far back.

These are all good suggestions. Does anyone know if it would be okay for me to mix it with yogurt?

Just took time for us. Now he has to take nightly allergy medicine and opens up for us when he sees it coming. But it was fighting tooth and nail for awhile.

Try small amounts like everyone else says...

Yogurt would make me nervous that maybe they'd stop eating or not want it and then you're out a days worth of medicine. Or half a bite and then you aren't sure either how much they took in.
