First Stitches (DS1)

DS1 had to get stitches for the first time today. He fell at the pool and cut his head on the brick, right near his eye. Got 5 stitches at the acute care clinic. It was a very traumatizing experience for us all. My friend kept DS2 for me, but I had to bring DS3 because BFing. Trying to hold DS1 still and rock DS3 in the car seat was brutal!

Anyway, he is doing fine now, and only somewhat traumatized by the experience. Wish us luck that the scar isn't too bad!

That a lvl up. I'm sorry it was a tramatic day. Hopefully the rest of the day is calm. Hopefully some snuggles help. I always gave ice cream as distractant from medical nasties.

I let him choose what he wants for dinner, and he picked Chili's. Maybe I need more luck my way trying to wrangle three kids at a restaurant

I'm so sorry! That must have been really scary! If it makes you feel any better, DS1 fell and busted his lip right in the corner of his mouth and it split on the outside too. We took him to the ER and he would have needed stitches but the ER doctor said it would have to heal on its own because of the spot it was in. That happened in September of last year and the scar is now gone. He doesn't even remember it happening.

Honestly, I think these things are more traumatic for us, as mothers. This is something that you'll never forget, and if he happens to remember it I'm sure his memory will be filled with the comfort and love he got from his Mommy. ((Hugs))
