2nd Trimester

Dizziness

So I'm 15 weeks 2ds and for the last two weeks I've been feeling dizzy and seeing white spots..I wasn't keeping much down including water so I was told I was dehydrated and was given some meds to help keep food down I've been taking them and drinking water and I still feel dizzy and keep seeing little floaters I'd this normal?

  • How's your blood pressure?

  • Hows your heart rate? I had to have mine checked because my heart starts racing and causes my dizziness.
  • Well at the hospital my blood pressure dropped a lot when I laid flat and when I sat up. I guess I will mention it to my ob next week.
  • In my second trimester only I would get dizzy sometimes and only when I was in the shower (if it was too hot). My heart would race and everything went black until I sat down for a few minutes. My bp's were mostly normal; two days before I ended up having J I was sent for a nonstress test because of two high bp's throughout my pregnancy and my protein levels were just at the mark were I could possibly have had preeclampsia. But I'll never know if I did because I had him before my 24 hour urine test came back. So definitely keep your doc informed.

  • I am starting to get dizzy as well. For me, it usually happens during the day while I'm at work. I'm not sure if it has something to do with me staring at a computer all day or the lighting in the building but it usually starts after 2 PM. I did read that dizziness and headaches happen during the 2nd trimester. Hopefully it wont last all the way through.  :-S
  • My midwife mentioned I might start feeling lightheaded or dizzy if I haven't already (19w) since the increase in blood volume can affect everyone differently. Like everything its worth mentioning to your doctor, but it could just be a normal reaction to baby. If you are concerned dont wait until your next appointment. They can make the call if you need to be seen earlier.
