How long do you keep LO up before putting him/her down for a nap?

Re: Nap time

  • Why do my polls always post without me hitting post? Darn mobile. Well, can y'all answer anyways?

  • Loading the player...
  • The options don't seem to make sence to me
  • Because it posted without me finishing and I can't fix it. Needs to be deleted. My mobile sucks.

  • I'm sorry, but at the same time glad I'm not just sucking at comprehension today
  • Nope you're all there today. Me on the other hand, not so much.

  • He's usually up for 2 hours in between his first 2 naps. Sometimes he takes a third but he's probably up for 3+ hours before that. Other times he skips the 3rd altogether.

  • It can really vary depending on the day, the length of his previous nap, where we are, etc, but it's generally about 1.5 hours... and there's usually a longer stretch right before bed as well, about 2.5 hours-ish.

  • I aim for 1.5 hours, but sometimes it's less if his last nap sucked or if he's just tired.  Usually the stretch before bed is longer.

  • Usually between 1-2 hours. Sometimes a little longer in the evening. 1.5 is probably the most common for us

  • Aim for 1.5 hrs and try not to go longer than 2 hrs....but I'm really bad at this and it doesn't make a difference at night (it's always sucky no matter what) so yeah, I don't even know what our average is cause I stopped paying attention. And he goes to daycare so I have no idea how much he sleeps there. They are supposed to fill out a sheet for me but hardly do anymore....

Similar to this. Goal is about 1.5 but some days she takes long naps - 2.5 to 3 hrs. On those days she is up 2 hrs between naps. On days like today when her naps suck, it's closer to an hour. Sometimes she is awake close to 3 hrs in the evening because she fights her late nap. But that is less than ideal to say the least.

  • Around 1.5-2 hours. Like others said it depends on how long his naps are. The range is anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hour naps.

  • What's naptime?
This.  LO has shut her eyes for a total of 15 minutes today.

  • At about 2 hrs of being up they give me sleepy cues and I put them down for a nap.

  • We are aiming for a nap around 730-830am, so depending when he wakes up this is normally a 2 hr stretch, but I watch for sleep cues as well. Second nap I aim for anywhere between 1230-2, so this is about a 2.5 hr stretch but if we are out he gets catnaps in the car seat. Sometimes a 3rd nap around 4-5 as well. All his naps last 45 min to 1 hr.
  • 1.5 - 2hrs
  • About 2 hours
  • 1.5 hours normally. Her last nap before bed she is usually up longer, like others have said.

She is usually up for 2-3 hours. She is a big nap fighter.
  • Depends....usually 1-2 hours, sometimes more or sometimes less.  We just wait until he looks tired, then try to put him down.  He's not consistent enough to have the same nap times every day.
