Hemmorrhage during ultrasound

I went in for a dating ultrasound today and was told when they identify something abnormal I would have to speak to the doctor. I was told I had a hemmorhage. It totally devastated me, the doctor told me that it was quite common. I'm sure I am okay and so is baby. I just don't want to go internet surfing, as I know it will link me to death :). Anyone else going through this?

Re: Hemmorrhage during ultrasound

  • Thanks, I guess I just wanted someone else to tell me something! I'm a natural worrier, and need to quit!!

  • I have/had (not sure if it's still there) a small bleed in my uterus. It was so small nobody even mentioned it to me until I brought up some unexplained spotting. If the doctor isn't worried, I wouldn't be worried. They've dealt with more pregnancies than we probably ever will, lol.
  • I had a moderate to large SCH at 5 weeks. At my 9 weeks ultrasound it had completely resolved. Just stay off off of Google and hang in there! The majority of time they resolve themselves.

  • I have one too. Hemorrhage is a really ugly sounding, scary word. Try to relax. Each time I bleed, I totally lose it. I should take my own advice! But seriously, lots of people have them and go on to have healthy pregnancies.

  • I have a fairly large sch and am on bedrest this week. Baby has a beautiful heartbeat and the doctor and my acupuncturist say this happens in 20% of pregnancies. Doesn't make it easy to take though :-) hang in there! Wishing you good luck in your pregnancy!
  • Thanks guys!! I feel better, I haven't bleed any. Hoping I don't, at this point. I never should have been on Google.
  • I have a decent sized one that we discovered at about 6 weeks when I bleed out. They say bits common but it doesn't feel that way. I've had three ultrasounds and all have come back showing the baby having a strong heartbeat and growing as expected. Sounds like your in good company. Praying for a smooth pregnancy for you!
  • I had a large one...half the size of my uterus...I had gushes of blood with tissue in it multiple times...light bleeding that lasted for days...and if I was active and didn't follow the strict bed and pelvic rest it was heavy bleeding...and Tylenol made it a lot worse too...avoid anything penetration or "O" related and take it easy...mine shrunk to the size of a small fingernail is how the tech described it at my last healthy US...be easy ladies
  • I have one too and was super nervous but asked my doc to clarify. She said they didn't even measure it because it was so small but being a pgal mom I was nervous. She said with ultrasounds getting more advanced and women having ultrasounds before 12 weeks, pretty much 1 out of 3 ultrasounds has one.
  • I have one which we didn't notice until 14 weeks when I started to have quite a lot of bleeding. Went in the next day and checked on the little one and still totally fine. Moving and strong heartbeat. I'm on modified bed rest until I stop bleeding. It's already slowed down a lot though. Very scary! My dr said she's never seen it cause a miscarriage this late in the pregnancy but I could be at risk for preterm labor later on.
  • I had this at my first scan at 7 weeks and was freaking out, then 3 weeks later I had another scan and it was totally gone. They are common and will usually be absorbed. Don't stress!
