Babies: 0 - 3 Months

DD won't nap more than 30 minutes!

And it is not enough! She wakes up still yawning and glassy eyed. But, she won't go back to sleep and just wants to talk in her crib! So, this makes it hard to tell her sleepy cues for her next nap, since it seems like she yawns all day every day. Anyone else in the same position?? Any suggestions??

Re: DD won't nap more than 30 minutes!

  • How is her sleep at night?

Baby J doesnt take too long of naps  during the day but he sleeps 6-10 hours at a time through the night.

  • DS does something fairly similar.  I don't know that we've found a solution yet, but I've been thinking of trying the baby whisperer's suggestion - use her pick up / put down method to try & get back to sleep, keep doing that until the time that they're 'supposed' to get up, then go to the next nap time (don't let them sleep before around that time) and do the whole thing over again.  She says it'll take a few days, but should work.  Haven't tried it here yet, though.

She sleeps good at night. I wouldn't mind the 30 min naps if it seemed like she was rested afterwards! She either yawns immediately after she wakes up (and doesn't stop yawning!) or 20 minutes after she wakes up. So that leads me to believe the short naps are not enough :(

  • I could have written this post. Same problem here. This morning we napped together for an hour and a half, that is definitely a record but I can't always nap with her.

  • Don't have much advice but wanted to tell you that you aren't alone...DS is the same way most days!!  It stinks! :(
