  • @Skeemer‌ I thought I was the only one that felt like thAt about onesies.

Nope. DH laughed at me last night when I said I needed to get LO dressed. He was like, "she's wearing a onesie". Not acceptable for an outing.

  • To add to the onsies, they are not shirts. Don't put them on your baby with pants. They are undershirts.
  • You guy are nuts. Onesies are the cutest thing and I'd let mine wear onesies til she's 5 if I could. Yes, they're baby pjs but they're so

    UO -
I hate any product Apple has ever made, universally. Don't care what it is or what it does, I hate it. If they invent a robot that will make me breakfast and get the mail, I will still hate it.

It isn't Thursday, I don't like UO not Thursday.

Meringue is awful. So are most outdoor activities. So is any sport ever. So is wine.

I don't understand why people freak out about babywearing (as in, being for or against in the extreme). I put baby in a carrier sometimes because it suits my needs. I don't do it constantly and don't have any objection to it and don't get why a whole culture has sprung up around the concept.

I don't understand the obsession with baby wearing carriers. I think baby wearing is awesome- but I don't understand the hype and frenzy over a certain carrier or style.

For me, it's about finding the right one. I need one for my sanity. The quicker it is to get it on, the better. I need a back up, so when one gets projectile vomited on, I can wash it without losing my sanity.

I seem to be collecting them, as I try different ones out. I have 4 so far. I don't dislike any of them, but feel some styles fit my current needs better than the others. Now I'm looking for a back up of the one I like best (so I can keep it in the car, rather than dragging one back and forth).

    It's an obsession.
  • I would prefer to have LO in an outfit, rather than a onsie. But, true outfits don't fit her (all 7 pounds of her 9 week oldness). I tried to put a pair of pants and cute shirt on her yesterday. When I picked her up, the pants just fell off (picture included!). Those are NB pants! The other issue here is that "outfits" are seasonal, but our weather isn't. It's way too chilly here to slap a summer outfit on her without extra layers of blankets.

When I was doing clothing inventory last night (I'm not totally crazy - I separated stuff by size to put into plastic bins to have some idea of what we will be needing. And because I'm out of room in her dresser), I have been gifted 39 0-3 mos onesies. 39!! And 5 outfits. So, my choices are to spend a buttload of money on clothes she will wear for a couple months at best, or slap a onesie on her and call it a day.

I see no point in baby socks or shoes for summer infants. I also DGAF if people judge my barefoot baby. His toes are adorable, deal with it.

With diaper changes pants would drive me crazy. Snaps FTW.
We don't put pants on at home most of the time for this reason, but always out in public.

Re: socks - if you could feel my baby's frozen feet, you would see a point in socks. Yep, her feet are darn cute! But, with no body fat, she just can't keep them warm! I do wash one set of socks (3 pair) a freakin ton, as they are the ones that stay on.
  • Onesies are the best ever. I only dress her up if we are going somewhere.
    hi

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • I don't give a shit what Catie is wearing. Doesn't matter when or where. I know what she likes. Fuck off to other people's advice.
  • Team onesie here. Are all the onesie haters moms to girls? For boys, I had a terrible time finding just pants to go with the onesies I was gifted. So I gave up. I try to put on shorts or pants when we go out, but I don't stress about it anymore.

As for the baby wearing - I don't get the chatter either. Everywhere I go, people comment on my moby. Men and women both have an opinion or question.

My UO - I hate baby day at the office. Before I had a kid, I hated when other people brought their new babies to the office and I didn't want to do it with LO. After rumors went around that I wasn't coming back and that's why I never brought LO in, I took him in over lunchtime for a quick visit. It was just as awkward as I knew it would be. Never again.

  • onesies are basically the only thing I put DD in. She's a little furnace though so generally thats what she's coolest in. When we go out I'll throw her in some shorts. I like carters onsie dresses, but she gets super sweaty in then if she's in her carseat for a long time.

I think the plain white onesies can be an undershirt, but there are others meant to been seen. LO has a batman onesie that has a velcro cape for petes sake. I can't put the cape on under another shirt that would just be awkward.

This. I think they meant the plain white ones that look like under shirts.

  • But what do you all think about a onesie with leg warmers? ;-)
Kill it. Kill it with fire.

    the outfit, not the baby
  • It's 100 degrees here right now. No way in hell am I putting my DD in more clothes than necessary if we have to go out, so I'm in the no pants or shorts club. She rocks the onesie and she has socks if we go inside anywhere because her feet get cold, and then I throw a muslin blanket over her legs that I can take off as soon as we get in the heat. We have dresses for her, too, but those we use if we are going to be seeing someone, not for quick trips to the store and back. They ride up so much and can be a pain when it's just the two of us.

A onesie to me is a T-shirt that doesn't ride up. I would hate to have to use normal shirts at this age and un-bunch them all of the time.

  • I love onesies. With pants, without pants, short sleeved, long sleeved, whatever. They're the best. We probably have upwards of 200 of them in our house in various sizes (I'm a sentimental hoarder when it comes to clothes my boys wore). Onesies are the perfect baby clothing item.

Yes. Only the plain onesies are unacceptable, and only if we're going out somewhere. She lives in onesies around the house the way I've been living in yoga pants. She has lots of cute onesie-based outfits, but the plain white ones are not for outings. :)

  • I lied to my husband yesterday and said I went for a 3 mile run while he was at work.

Instead, I put on my work out clothes (I had good intentions) but on my way to the park my mom called and invited me to lunch and shopping. I went with my mom, but told my husband it was a fantastic run.
A FFFC on the UO thread on a Saturday. Ballsy move @ghostof5letters‌! =D>

  • I hate baby wearing. Maybe it's because I've only tried the one carrier. I don't have the money to buy several options in hopes of finding one I like. But both my girls have hated it, and I've hated it.

Out of curiosity, which carrier do you have?
