I need a new hobby...any ideas?

Okay, so I'm finding that I am getting way too OBSESSED with all of this fertility stuff. I mean I am researching it, thinking about it, talking about it, and sulking about it way too much. It's consuming me! My RE appointment is this Tuesday and it feels like a lifetime. What do you ladies do to distract yourselves? What are your hobbies? I need a new one!

The basics:

TTC 1st child since February 2013

Married to DH since May 28, 2011

First RE appt.: 08/19/2014

Hm...I taught myself how to crochet. Relaxing and passes time very fast since you do have to concentrate on the stitching and patterns. I also decided to stain all of my furniture to the same color. LOTS of time sanding down wood.

I'm now into beading. I've crafted at least 15 bracelets and 2 necklaces in the last month. I need more beads.

I play a bunch of instruments. It's so therapeutic to shut myself away. I personally prefer my oboe, but the acoustic guitar is a popular fave for beginners. Perhaps look in to some lessons! :-)

Cake decorating. Reading. Bootcamp. And binge watching the hell out of some TV. Recently caught up on Veep, OITNB, Orphan Black, and Doctor Who. And I rewatch Breaking Bad periodically because it is hands down the best television show in the history of television shows.

For funzies: here's the cake I made for my final project of my first decorating class.

Wow! Ya''ll are some seriously talented people and have awesome suggestions! I'm definitely into fitness and I also enjoy reading. I just need to find me a good book! I also would love to get crafty! Keeping my mind and my hands busy is what I need. Pinterest will be my new friend for craft ideas! Thank you all for the awesome ideas!

@lindy04aggie‌ Piyo is a workout kinda like a fast paced version of Pilates and yoga mixed. No weights or high impact. I've gone down almost two pant sizes in a month. I'm not a huge exercise person...but this doesn't suck at all.

Annnnnd I totally sound like a late night infomercial!

@AnnaClare256 - I love Pinterest projects too!! I made an awesome lamp out of books a couple of years ago. And a set of coasters made out of scrabble tiles. Other than I mostly make recipes I find on there. Oh, and I used it to help my bestie plan her wedding this year. I'm addicted.

Love the lamp and especially the coasters!!!! I have a picture on the wall that I found on Pinterest made out of huge scrabble tiles to spell our names and some other words. I love doing stuff with scrabble tiles

@annaclaire256 - Awesome stuff!! DH actually makes my wreaths for me. He has made me multiple Halloween wreaths and he made me a Christmas wreath that matches all the decorations on our tree too. Yes, all of our decorations are coordinated. I'm a little anal that way.

I'm totally with you on the matching decorations! I waaaaaay over decorate for EVERY holiday. It looks like Christmas exploded in our house the day after thanksgiving.

I am so happy that I'm not alone! Literally, last year my sister and I stayed up until midnight on Thanksgiving just so we could start decorating for Christmas!!! LOL It's my favorite holiday. I just love the feeling, the music, and the decorations!

OMG, I love Christmas. I have a fake tree but I went and bought these scented sticks at Michael's that smell like Christmas tree. (You stick them in the fake tree and then you get to delight in the scent of real tree without any of the fire hazard/money.) I have candles that smell like mulled wine that I like to burn all month. Then it's all baking, baking, baking all month. I make gift bags of different kinds of cookies and hand them out to co-workers. And then of course there are the movies. Watch ALL the Christmas movies. While eating cookies. And drinking hot cocoa with Kahlua.

How much longer until Christmas??

@williegsocks‌ everyone complains that Christmas season starts earlier and earlier each year...not this girl! I friggin love it! I have 12 HUGE Rubbermaid tubs full of Christmas decorations. DH says every item in our house has a Christmas replacement....he's not entirely wrong.

You have no idea. He gets so excited when I suggest we do arts and crafts. Last year for Christmas he bought me a whole ceramic Christmas village but he got it unfinished so that we could spend time together painting all the little buildings. He is adorkable.

I like to make things out of wood. My husband bought a compound miter saw so I've added crow molding, wainscoting, I repainted my bathroom framed out a window in molding and hung a chandelier above my tub. I also refinish furniture. Right now I'm showing a friend how to refinish furniture by starting on her kitchen table.

Here is a few of my projects. The last is a buffet thing for my back patio I made from scratch using old wood that's been taking out of old houses, that's my newest obsession. I want to build a built in entertainment center in my living room and I know exactly what I want to do just haven't started on it.

Thanks! I have lots of people asking me to do little projects for them, but iTs just been to damn hot to get in my garage and do stuff. My MIL is an interior designer and thinks I need to do more of my furniture and sell it, I just don't have a workshop. Maybe I should build me one :-)

@LLM100811 - Just so you know, if there's a Michaels craft store somewhere near you they usually offer tons of different crafting classes. That's where I took both of my cake decorating classes and I had a lot of fun.

I really want to find a local pottery class. I took one in college. I tend to be fairly obsessive and it was a great outlet.

surprisingly you can get acoustics for pretty cheap. It's not going to be fancy, but my mum bought me one for Christmas a few years ago for about $100 from Walmart or something. I'm no professional so it does it's job haha :-)

Love all your paintings! For my hobbies...I took a crochet class and love how I can take it with me anywhere. I also love to bake and recently discovered the homemade marshmallow fondant recipe, which is super fun to play around with.
