*****pregnancy and baby mentioned***

This day is NOT going as I had planned.

I got up this morning got dressed and even decided to put makeup on .... Big mistake!!!

I tried to boil some eggs, yeah not hard right? Well when you forget about them on the stove and and all the water cooks out of the pot they eventually explode and the lid of the pot shoots off to let you know. I forgot about them while getting dressed.

Ok let me make some cheese toast to eat ..... Easy right? Not when your preoccupied by putting makeup on. I burned the first piece so bad I set the smoke alarm off. Alarm people call to tell me they are going off NO SHIT, it's LOUD!!! So I tried it again .... Burned the second fucking piece. I'm getting shakes by now it's almost 11 and my sugar is dropping and I can't fucking cook anything. Peanut butter crackers it is!

Alright I'm fed looking good with my hair fixed, dressed and makeup on. Now I'm going to go do some shopping and finally get my hearing aid fixed so my family will quit bitching because I can't hear (like I want to sometimes). I walk in to get it fixed at SAMs and the girl that's always helped me is big and pregnant. Seriously June of last year when she adjusted it she was in the middle of a divorce and now she's looking 6-7 months pregnant.

Fuck that shit, I don't give a damn if I can hear. I think I'm just going to go home and lay on the couch and watch tv and maybe stop at McDonalds to get food I'm not suppose to eat because obviously cooking is not my thing either today.

So much for trying to get dressed for once!
Fucking bump!!!!

Re: Sometimes you just want to start the day over.

  • Aw that sucks.... You really weren't having a good day were you? ((Hugs))

@rainbowbridge14 I caught my microwave on fire too! I was cooking rice in one of those Microcooker things from Pampered Chef and it melted the pot. Luckily DH (boyfriend at the time) is a volunteer firefighter and was able to get it out before I burnt my apartment down.... lol

  • Y'all are making me feel better. I can't say I've ever caught my microwave on fire .... YET!

Maybe I should change this to what all have you caught on fire while trying to cook?
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • About a friend of mine (really is a friend, not me):
He made toast in an enthusiastic toaster. Toast started on fire, toaster ejected flaming toast into paper towels, which also burst into flames. Luckily, the cabinet was only a little singed.

His dad did something similar at one point. Must be genetic.

I seriously LMAO at the flaming toast @tweetyknicks‌.

So I decided against the Mickie D's because I've been doing good on my diet. I went to get a pedicure, guess who's sitting next to me. A woman with the most adorable 4 month old little girl.

I'm going home to drink after this!

  • Given the second blow while trying to relax with a pedi I'd skip the wine when you get home and go straight for the tequila!

Man o man! That sounds like a rough start. I support your McDonald's and TV night 100%!

One time I was cooking something on the stove and forgot to burner the burner off...then I took a glass casserole dish out of the oven and put it on the hot burner. I left the room to get something and heard a huge BOOM! That thing exploded! I had glass and chicken noodle casserole all over every inch of my kitchen!

  • ** passess Pinto the Vodka (I drank all the wine)**

I once exploded the pressure cooker full of lentils.  The thing that goes on the top was embedded in the ceiling and there was red lentil mush sprayed over the entire kitchen.  Took days to scrub it all.

I burned pizza last week on the grill.  I got sidetracked and it was a giant black hockey puck.

  • Actually the day has gotten better. Now, my house still smells like burnt toast with jelly on top. I turned on all my sentsy's to make it smell better. Of course my husband thinks it's funny as hell, which I guess it is now.

Were headed to a friends to have a glass or 2 or 3 of wine. I never got Mickie D's I'm saving my calories for wine because you know that's just more important in my book.

Got to say I love all the women on this board, y'all can bring a smile or a laugh even when you are having one shitty day. Thanks!!!!
    Fucking bump!!!!

  • God, I am sorry you had such a rough morning but I am happy your day got better.

Um, for real though...I had no idea you could even blow up a hard boiled egg until tonight.  I don't think I've ever set anything in my kitchen on fire (thankfully) but I definitely left the oven on all night long after baking a dessert for a friend's dinner party.  So I'm pretty lucky I didn't accidentally set my apartment on fire and crisp my dogs.
