Lovenox injections without instructions?

Hi everyone. My ob gyn called me in a prescription for Lovenox today. My MFM and her were not on the same page about but she's being more aggressive, which I love. Anyway, she said I need to pick up the meds and come to the nurse for a quick 'training session'. She said it's a technicality and I'll be in and out without an appt. I've done IVF so I know how to do subcutaneous injections all too well. My instict is to go ahead and start them tonight, even though I can't get there to 'train' until tomorrow. I mean, I've done these injections before but with a different medicine inside. Any advice? I've heard to ice the area with Lovenox.  I just won't forgive myself if something happens between today and tomorrow with the baby (I'm 8.5 weeks along) and the 'training' I had for IVF injections was a joke.Thanks

*Miraculous BFP July 2014!! (I was taking baby aspirin and Cabergoline to stay regulated while "taking a break from TTC" and waiting to consult with a reproductive immunologist!!!) 

Our healthy baby girl was born 03/10/15 thanks to daily Lovenox injections and baby aspirin. There are no words for how grateful I am for our rainbow baby. <3

    Same deal, lovenox goes in the belly subcutaneous just like my trigger shot did.  They might explain things to look out for as far as bleeding risks and such but expect more of the same.

    Sounds like you already know the drill. I never had any training so i think you'd be fine to go ahead and start. I don't ice.. But I do try to do them close to my hip in that fatty area- they still hurt though! Good luck!

    4 IUIs with Clomid, Letrozole, and Menopur. All BFN.
    9/12: lap / hysteroscopy: found and removed mild endometriosis, cervical polyp, and 2 para-tubular cysts
    5/13 IVF #1: Follistim, Menopur, Ganirelix, 10R/4M/4F, ET of 2, 5 cell and 4 cell, no frosties = BFN
    12/13 IVF #2 = November / December 2013. Microdose Lupron Protocol: 15R/6M/6F, Froze all 6 due to high E2 and P4

    Delivered by c-section at 32w0d 8/15/2014 due to preeclampsia/HELLP syndrome

    I don't ice either. They will sting so be aware of that. You also may bruise a lot. As PP said, try to use love handles etc especially as you get bigger. I noticed that the needle has a sharp tip and a blunt side. Hold it up to the light and I think you'll see what I mean. Hold the needle so you are pushing the sharper side in first. I never got a lesson for lovenox especially when you're an IVFer.

    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE

    I never got a training session and if you're already comfortable giving yourself injections you should be fine. I gave myself my very first Lovenox in an airport terminal, LOL quite the sight let me tell ya,  :)

    NTNP 2009-2012         TTC since 2012:
    • Clomid, 2 IUI cycles, and 5 IVF cycles = BFN
    • FET #1   August 2013 = BFP!     EDD 5/11/14
