Just wondering if S+TMs are planning on sterilizing bottles with bags or by boiling in water again or just running through the dishwasher or hand washing?
I will boil them the first time. Then hand wash daily and microwave sterilize every so often. I don't trust the dishwasher and we don't run it every day anyway.
We boiled them before the first use, but otherwise just washed them either in the dishwasher or by hand in a pinch. I figured that we weren't sterilizing everything she came in contact with on a daily basis, and so long as they were clean, it was fine.
We will boil them again after taking out of storage. I bought all new nipples for the bottles. Those will be boiled. Then after that we boil again only if sick. Otherwise we wash by hand or tin through dishwasher.
I am going to run through the high temp sterilization setting on my dishwasher before first use and regular setting after.
I believe, and correct me if I am remembering wrong, but of you use dr browns bottles, they have to be boiled before using. Has to do with leaking. Although I did and they leaked anyway. Read instructions on "fancy" bottles.
I boiled all bottles, binks, and pump parts out of the box and will boil them again when they come out of storage. In between uses, I just wash them by hand.
I Will probably boil first time bringing them out of storage then hand wash after that. I have a counter top sterilizer I used last time that's really easy ans super quick so I tend to do that too.
I hand washed, put them in a giant bowl, and then used my electric kettle to boil water and just dumped it on everything. Even of the night I'd use the dish washer.
I just had this conversation with my sister yesterday. I had a dishwasher when DD was born but I don't now so I'll probably do a big pot of boiling water before the first use then hand wash after that. He will be okay, his bottles will be clean.
