It's probably just my pgal brain that won't turn off, but I'm a little worried after my 38 week appointment yesterday. I've been measuring 2 weeks behind the entire 3rd trimester, and that's fine, there has been consistent growth from week to week. But now I am measuring 3 weeks behind, with no growth from the previous week. The midwife just said that if there is no change next week then she'll send me for an u/s. Honestly though what would an ultrasound at 39/40 weeks be good for anyway? If this is due to IUGR would that be too late?

Anyone have any thoughts or advice? I would really like to take my mind off of this somehow while waiting for baby to arrive.

    I know that it can change if the baby drops, but she told me that the baby is still not engaged. Is just sitting a bit lower a possibility?

    I wouldn't worry for now. I was measuring spot on each week and then this past 38 week visit I suddenly measured 36.5 weeks. OB wasn't worried because the baby does move lower as you get to this point. If you need an u/s next week, I am sure it will just to be on huge safe side.

    I didn't grow between 37 and 38 weeks and am now also "3 weeks behind". Midwife said I might have dropped a bit. We'll see how I measure at 39 weeks but she didn't seem concerned.

    My baby never engaged but was very very low and I measured behind as well after he starting "dropping". Try not to worry.

    Dropping is different from being engaged.  My baby is sitting noticeably lower.... essentially "dropped" but he's not engaged because the the direction his face is pointed and where his hips are.  I've started measuring behind as well.  It's very common.  Try not to stress :-)

    My doctor measures me, but doesn't tell me the measurement unless I specfically ask. I'm sure she would set something up if she thought it was really concerning.
