Teacher meet & greet went well.

Very well, actually. The first grade has a large number of students this year, but DD1 ended up in the class that she went to for her first-grade reading work last year! So the teachers know her (it's a team-taught class with two teachers), she knows them, knows where the classroom is, etc. and I'm really, really glad and feel that we lucked out on placement.

They were very happy to see her, she gave hugs and told them about her summer, and I finally got to meet the people who were working with her on reading skills last year.

The school psychologist got a kiss on the cheek from DD1 after she swept DD1 into a big hug while we were on our way out. LOL. Slightly inappropriate but she is so darn sweet about it. I also got info on Girl Scouts and there might actually be a troop starting at our school for DD1's age, which would be really convenient. I am optimistic as we head into school starting next week!

I'm glad it went well! Ours is in two weeks. I'm trying to be zen about school starting because I still feel like we're kind of in limbo with the diagnosis.

Auntie, that's something to think about with Girl Scouts--I'm trying to decide if we should join.

That's so great, sounds like you have a great team! DS's team of teachers aren't "huggers" and I think sometimes he needs a bit of that. We start Cub Scouts soon too! I wish it was at our school, but I'll settle for our church.

Sounds great. Ours went well last night too. He has a new psych. I introduced us and B. I'm kind of excited the psych is a guy. I LOVED his school psych last year but if this guy is good, B does respond to men pretty well.
