Today is the last day!! I'm so proud of everyone. We all had a few tough days and that's okay. It seems like everyone is way more aware of their spending. That's a huge thing. I know it is for me. I'm thinking way more about what I buy and trying really hard to use what I already have.
Instead of doing a strict no spending thing next month I'm thinking about maybe budgeting with the intent to save. I want to cut out all of the unneccessary things and try to put an extra $100 (or whatever number works for you if you decide to join) into savings on top of what we already put in each month. I think many of us said that we wanted to trim our spending in order to put more into savings anyway. I think something like this might be a little more constructive than a don't spend anything challenge. It has the same budgeting, meal planning, and impulse avoidance objectives but with something tangible at the end. That money will come in handy for the holidays. What do you think?
Re: 15 Day No Spend Challenge Check In - 08/15/14
I ate out 3 times when I forgot my lunch. I didn't get starbucks once the $ loaded on my card ran out. I DID go to the consignment sale and spend $56, but I really don't regret it. I REALLY tried to only buy stuff he needed.
