House under contract!

We've been looking for a house since March, and like most people it hasn't been the smoothest process. I was hoping we would be able to move by end of August since our current place (rental) is gross and getting grosser (I realized in June that when the people shower on the 2nd floor water leeks into our shower. Landlord fixed that, but who knows how long that's had been going on or what is lurking behind the tiles now)

Anyway, we finally have a house under contract, have gone through inspections, and have agreed on what things they will fix/price reductions, ect. Just the mortgage process left!! I visited the house last night with a friend for the first time since I had seen it with DH (I didn't want to fall in love...DH has been back a few times for inspections, ect, but I haven't ) and oh my gosh, its just so cute, and the neighborhood is really lovely, and now I'm SO excited. The inside is pretty dated(Floral wallpaper from the 40's everywhere. So much wallpaper) and we have a bit of work ahead, but baby will have its own room and we won't have to worry about drunk neighbors on the third floor throwing trash out their window!

Congratulations! It is so nice (but also a little stressful) to have a house to renovate and decorate and make your own! We moved into our current house ONE WEEK before DD #1 was born - glad you don't have to do that!

I'm really really hoping we can get through the mortgage process and have a late sept/early oct move in, so I'll have most of 3rd trimester to nest

Agree with the PPs - updating a house and making it your own can get a little stressful, but if it's all cosmetic (walls and flooring) you can take your time with it and have fun. DH and I painted our entire house ourselves before we moved in and had a great time decorating it. Now the bathroom renovations earlier this year.. not as fun :P

Congrats! If I didn't need her I would send you my mom to help with the wallpaper. I don't know how but she is the master at removing wall paper it's her gift! Good luck updating and redecorating that's always the best part about moving to me
