2nd Trimester

If you use Palmer's cocoa butter....

which formula do you use?  Currently I have the Palmer's cocoa butter Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks that I've been using for a couple weeks.  I don't have any stretch marks yet and I know they're hereditary but I'm using lotion anyways.  If you use Palmer's is this what you use or is there a different formula?

Re: If you use Palmer's cocoa butter....

  • That is the one I use!  Before being preg I used Queen Helene cocoa butter every day and I immediately switched to Palmers Stretch mark creme. Unfortunately I am covered in stretch marks but I don't think there is much I could have done.

  • That's what I've been using... no stretch marks yet (none for my mom and aunt though, either!)

That's why I think it's all hereditary, so I'm not expecting to not get any.  The lotion at least makes me no longer itch.  If I don't put it on, my belly is itchy!

Ugh... if you find out about any different formulation of that stuff, please pass it on, b/c I have the same stuff as you and it smells nasty!  I keep thinking, why doesn't it smell like cocoa butter?!  I don't know if it works yet, since I'm only 15 weeks, but I'd love to know if there is some other smell!

I totally know what you're talking about with the smell, I noticed it right away.  But I have noticed once it sinks in I no longer notice the smell.

  • I use it too. I know stretch marks are "hereditary" but I love it because my belly doesn't itch anymore.

No stretch marks yet!  ::Crosses fingers::

  • I use the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for SM but I got the one with Shea Butter in it. It seems to be working well with the itching and reducing the appearance of stretch marks. As said before, there is no preventing stretch marks but this does a pretty good job of keeping them under control.
  • I don't why when I go to quote, it just posts that....

anyway, I replied to another post today how I tried the cocoa butter thinking it would smell great, but I felt like a thanksgiving turkey all buttered up.  I'm sticking to me Curel Pregnancy lotion.

The Shea Butter one doesn't have the strong smell of cocoa butter and just smells like regular lotion. Just FYI

  • I use the Palmer's Itchy skin soothing oil since I was itching like crazy.  So far it works.

I got suckered into buying the Motherhood Stretchmark prevention lotion.  I don't have stretchmarks yet.  Better safe than sorry.

  • i use palmer's cream during the day and tummy butter at night. the tummy butter is a bit greasy but really retains moisture. they all smell the same...
  • I think it's actually the shea butter that makes it smell a little funky... that's the one I use though.
