Has anyone else developed these beautiful things? I just happened to be sitting on my bed last night and looked down and saw a red mark on my leg behind my knee. After extending my leg out and looking at the entire area I discovered that the backs of my knees are covered and THAT led to 15 minutes of sobbing and DH repeatedly telling me I'm beautiful bc he felt bad lol...God love him. They look like stretch marks almost it's smooth and sudden...just hideous. I know it's common...I'm just disgusted and sad about it :|

AND I've shamlessly attached a photo :(

  • Here too :( I did have them a little bit before getting pregnant, but they've gotten much more noticeable. If it makes you feel any better... mine are a gross blue/green color & look 100x worse than yours lol

It's twin girls!! Born on 11-2-14!

  • I've always had little spider veins on my leg. They don't really bother me. Since getting pregnant, I'm getting them on my upper abdomen, just under my boobs. Those ones, I don't like. At all.
  • These are due to the increased blood flow during your last trimester. If you notice you may be even able to see your veins on your hands closer to your skin now... Oh yea and the fatigue will soon return.. Remember First Tri?! Mine has already kicked in gear :)
  • Yes!!! I am only 24 and have terrible blue spider veins on the side of my left leg. It's awful!!! They have compression stockings that supposably help, but I haven't got around to trying them yet.

I hear you! I had those in my right leg with my oldest ds-I was 21. It is genetic, some people are genetically disposed to it. Mine looked MUCH better after delivery! Between pregnancies they are not noticable on me.

Unfortunately they do pop up every pregnancy for me and right now my right calf is a freak show  : ( I do have the stockings that I wear at night, do they help? Hmmm not sure, they do feel a bit better in the AM but still look awful.

  • I have stretch marks, spider veins, and vericose veins. And it makes me feel so awesome when people talk about how ugly and disgusting they are.

I am sorry you got them. But you are not alone at all in having them. They could fade after the baby if stretch marks and could disappear if it is vein, though you can never be certain until after birth.
  • @lil_shocker‌ how is it going? Has BP showed up at all? I hope not. I'm getting a little more worried as we are getting closer to the end but I have cancer stuff going on with my mom and now seeing if she carries the BRAC gene and if she does there's a chance I do, so I haven't been thinking so much about BP.

    Hope your doing well!

  • Sorry about your veins, hopefully once baby comes along everything goes back to normal. :)
I have some crazy stretch marks on my ass cheeks and I even have a tattoo on my ass. Sooo.....I am really hoping they fade ALOT pretty quickly. :)

  • Nope not yet. Last time it was already here, so I am hoping that I am going to miss it this time.

My MIL has an ovarian cancer scare right now and that has been hard for my in laws and husband. My mom had a breast cancer scare about two months ago and I thought of you. Thankfully things were okay for her, but I don't know what will happen with my MIL.

I hope it isn't the BRAC gene for your mom. My friend's mom was diagnosed with breast cancer dduring her pregnancy, and they were able to get it all with a double mastectomy, but hers turned out to be genetic so my friend is going to be doing the testing to see if she has the gene. I do not envy the stress that you two must be going through.

Good I'm glad to hear you haven't had to deal with BP! My mom was diagnosed 4 years ago with breast cancer, (at 52 years old) they never even spoke of it being genetic, and I never thought it was, well when it came back in her neck last year, (aged 56) it changed form, it came back as triple negative breast cancer which is really unusual, usually your breast cancer stays whatever kind you are originally diagnosed with, because it came back as triple negative, is why they are doing the genetic testing. Anyone under the age of 60 that gets triple negative breast cancer gets the BRAC test done automatically. I'm praying hers was just a fluke thing, and it just turned triple negative by pure chance and that she doesn't have the gene. She has 2 older sisters and 1 younger brother (all over the age of 55) and none of them have any kind of cancer.
