DH is insistent on moving here. What do you love or hate about it? I know it's been ranked one of the best places to live in recent years, so I'm not completely opposed to the idea.
We're Northerners and all of our family still lives within a 3 hour drive of us, so I'm not sure I feel about this idea. On the plus side, I could stay at home and we'd most likely be mortgage free due to the equity on our home and the low cost of living in SC.
Let me know your thoughts!
TIA
Re: NBR-Does anyone live in or near Greenville, SC?
It's one thing for an area to be friendly and another thing for them to be accepting.
Are the the summer temps bearable?

It is not bad to be employed in SC. Employers definitely don't have the upper hand. It's at-Will employment so you can be fired or quit when you want. It's different than some other states but very conducive to entrepreneurship if you are interested in that.
One warning about the upstate (that's what it's called in SC) the politics are very conservative. It's a very international and diverse place thanks to the businesses there but it tends to be very right wing and religious. It's the most conservative part of the state, which, depending on where you're from, could be a shock.
I still absolutely love it there. The city has been majorly revitalized and there are cool restaurants everywhere. The Swamp Rabbit trail is very cool and there is just so much for young families there.
I also grew up in a very conservative/bible thumping part of PA, and although I don't always agree with their thinking, I've learned to deal with that mindset.
@babylimas It really snows there? Does that mean the schools get snow days on occasion? I'm a teacher and we live for snow days
