Lullabies to Paralyze

Just wanted to share this interesting PBS read on the melancholy/macabre nature of traditional lullabies:

Also this 2+ hours of lyric-less lullabies puts Jack out in minutes (I play it from the ipad turned away, not letting him watch the hypnotic graphics as per AAP recommendations). He's a good sleeper, but it still might help some of you dealing with sleep regression and/or fussy babies.

Re: Lullabies to Paralyze

  • Thanks for the YouTube link. I use a pandora lullaby station but some have words, which I don't like.
  • Loading the player...
  • Thanks for this! We do lullaby renditions of Pink Floyd now but could always mix it up.
  • The go-to calming remedy for my LO is the itsy bitsy spider but I have to do the hand/finger movements or its no good.  We also use the sleep pillow app and choose the beach waves + white noise and it seems to stop her in her tracks and zone her out.  :)
