DH has mentioned many times that he likes the name Micah, if we ever had/have a son. I don't hate/dislike it necessarily but the only people I know named Micah are girls.
-What is your opinion?

I really like Micah. I don't know any, but I only know it as a boy name.

For a middle name I like Micah Anthony or PP's suggestions of Micah Alexander or Micah Reid.

Love Micah for a boy. I personally don't know any. Micah James, Micah John, Micah Everett. It's firmly in the boy category for me. Unless you're Dutch and spell it Maaike, then it's a girl's name.

I obviously love it, as my husband and i will be naming our son Micah! I actually went to school with both a male and a female Micah, but... Just always figured that poor girl had a boy's name. My parents keep saying they 'just hope we pick a clearly boy's name' - and if they tell me it's not, I'm gonna laugh.

We'll likely go with Micah Benjamin or Micah Wesley (family name), but I'm loving all the suggestions!!

This is one of those names that I just hate. I hate the sound of it. It's one of those that everyone else except me likes. I knew a girl Micah growing up but still know it's a boys name.

I grew up in a very small town, the people that were in my graduating class felt more like brothers and sisters than classmates especially the ones that I had went to kindergarten on up with. There was one boy that nobody knew his middle name until we were in the fifth grade or something. Somebody finally asked his mom because he was too embarrassed to tell us. His middle name was Micah...people teased him about it until graduation (good hearted teasing, never malicious, but still teasing). I always associate the name with that.

Micah is definitely a boys name. I really like it but my husband would never go for it as he had an old boss that he hated named Micah.

I have to agree on the name trending with the girls. I have never really liked it anyway. Could you name him Michael and nn Micah ? Instead of Mikie or mike?

It is not trending on girls.

Agree. Ranked 104 for boys last year, in the 800s for girls. Also, seriously, it's an old biblical male name. Can we just stop this crap already?? There won't be any names left for boys.

well when I see it on girls irl, it SEEMS to be trending, but I probably used the wrong word (trending). I personally know 2 girls with the name and 1 nephew with the name. Micah is part of the trend of boys names on girls......along with such names as sawyer, Taylor, Emmett, Elliott etc . Part of the trend.....just part of the trend! (How's that?)

I have only seen/heard Micah on boys. If I saw this name on my class roster I would assume boy. It's NMS but a fine name.

Thanks everyone! I like it fine as a boy's name, I just had never actually seen/heard it as a boy's name from personal experiences. I was NOT considering naming a future daughter Micah, just for clarification. Lol.

I know both a boy and girl that are in their late 30's and a few that are in jr high and high school aged. My brother is named Micah, but I always wanted to name a girl Micah, myself. I like Micah Christopher. I think the middle name would sound good if it was a one or three syllable.

Micah is fine for a teddy bear or invisible friend. Not for a human child you want to be a functioning member of upper class society. Jane Austen Name Theory would Suggest you go with Michael, James, or if you insist on something a bit frivolous, Sidney.

My DH and I love the name Micah! I think only boy, but I have the same concern as you, as I hear a few girls with this name. My biggest concern is that people will NN him Mike, which I do not like! I wonder how much of a concern that should really be?? Anyway, love it!!
