Should I just forget the PnP?

We're going to the beach tomorrow for 5 days, then camping from there for 3.  I'm trying to pack lightly (haha) and we're running short on space; don't know if I should even try to squeeze the pack n play in there....What do you all do?  DS is almost 2.5, he can climb out of the pnp and sleeps in his toddler bed fine, BUT, at our place at the beach he would be on a double in our room (my parents rent a house and it'll be then, us 3, and my sister and FI), and I'm just worried about how he'll sleep on that.  And then camping, we'll be in a tent (just the 3 of us)....so...I don't know.  This is new to me!  Thanks :)

Re: Should I just forget the PnP?

  • I'd skip it too. Last month we took ours on vacation and never ended up using it. DD slept in the big beds just fine. If you're worried about him falling out of a big bed try rolling up a thin blanket (so that it's kinda like a pool noodle) and tuck it under the fitted sheet. It creates a bit of a bumper so they don't just fall right out! :-)

  • Ok, yea, that all makes sense.  I guess it's just the first time we'll be OOT and NOT taking it....not sure why it seems weird!
  • Another "Skip it" vote! If you can get him to sleep in the bed, great, otherwise I believe Walmart carries a kid-size air mattress as well as a toddler-size cot. We own the cot and while DS sleeps in it fine, he ends up sleeping on a crib mattress on the floor at my parent's..
