Hi ladies. I rarely post here but lurk on occasion....so sorry for the drive by! I just wanted to see if anyone here has experienced similar pacifier/sleep issues.
DD has been napping like a champ in her swing (1-3 hours at a time). I was able to put her in there awake, pop in the paci, and she would put herself to sleep. The last few days have been pacifier hell. She doesn't keep it in her mouth (which is totally normal) but she will wake up every fifteen minutes and cry until I get it back in there. I can't keep up with that nor can our DCP when she starts in a week and a half.
I thought I would try taking away the pacifier as she has developed a sleep association with it. It's a battle to get her down to sleep. Once asleep she wakes after 15-25 minutes rooting for her pacifier. She's clearly tired and frustrated and so am I

Has anyone else had experiences like this? I can't figure out where to go from here.....keep the pacifier away and hope she figures it out? Give the pacifier back for naps? I should mention...we do have other techniques we use for soothing (white noise, rocking, swaddle, shhhing)

Re: Weaning the pacifier
I told the day care lady about this a couple weeks ago and she said its totally normal. She said it's actually a good thing that she is not sucking on it 24/7. Its good to let them know ahead of time so they know what to do.
I have literally stayed up all night having a staring match with a spider I couldn't kill.
